Syeedah P.O.V
I sang to myself while I pulled my notebooks from my book bag and placed them in my locker. It's the end of the school day and everyone is crowding the hallway around me. They are laughing and talking to their friends, probably making weekend plans with each other on this lovely Friday.

I double checked my bag to make sure I had all my stuff before I left school. I had to do my homework tonight so I wouldn't have to worry about it for the weekend. I sighed and closed my locker, to see Swae standing behind the door, scaring the piss out of me. I jumped back and placed a hand on my chest.

Swae is my closest friend and he has this thing where he likes to scare me. We've known each other since freshman year of high school and we've been nearly inseparable since.

"Swae!" I yelled and slapped his arm.

"Did I scare you?" he laughed.

"Whatchu' think, slow ass?" I sassed, "What do you want anyway?" I leaned against my locker door and looked up at him.

"I wanted to know if you could to go to Manny's house party with me tonight at eight..."

"I don't know, Swae. I was planning on doing my homework and catching up on my shows." I stated and walked towards the big metal doors that led to the parking lot.

"C'mon, Syeedah! I want you to come with me." he pleaded, while turning me around by my arm, gently.

"You sure your lil' girlfriend won't have a problem with that...?" I said referring to the basset hound faced thot he calls a girlfriend.

"What does Lauryn have to do with anything?"

When I mentioned that Swae and I have been "nearly" inseparable since our early high school days, Lauryn would be the reason. She hasn't been too fond of me since they started talking mid-Junior year. So, now every time we're around each other, we're either giving side eyes each or arguing. She was even had the audacity to tell me that I can't be alone with Swae...like that would stop me? To be a little honest I do have feelings for Swae, but it'd never be anything more than a friendship.

"She has a lot to do with everything. You know how she gets when we're together. I'm telling you now, she has one more time to talk out of her neck to me, Swae." I warned, "I dare her to talk to me like she's crazy again. I'll beat some sense into her." I finalized while making it to my car. "Why you can't go with her?"

"She told me she ain't feel like going tonight. So I thought I'd ask you. I'll see if I can try to convince her before the party," he sighed.

Sometimes I feel really bad for Swae. What he fails to realize is that Lauryn is the perfect definition of a lying, vindictive, disloyal bitch. There are several tales that have circulated around campus about her sleeping with other people. Somehow, most of them fail to reach Swae, but if they do, Lauryn does a great job of reassuring him that their "just rumors from jealous hoes that want him". And every time Swae needed to complain about the bullshit, I was there, because I am loyal to him. I never want to see him hurting because I love him. Sometimes I fear that I love him too much.

I weakly smiled at him while I opened my driver's side door, "Good luck, baby-boy. I'll see you tomorrow if I'm not busy."

"Don't lie to me, Syeedah!" he joked with a cute smirk on his face.

"Now why would I do that?" I giggled. I shove the key inside the car's ignition and pulled out of the parking lot.
