Y/N P.O.V

The incessant noise coming from my alarm clock woke me up. I slammed my hand down on the button to turn it off before slowly opening my eyes and stretching, loosening up my muscles that were stiff from sleep.

"What time is it?" Matthew asked unraveling his grip on my waist. His morning voice is one of the sweetest sounds ever.

"It's 6:30 am. C'mon babe. We need to get ready now if we want make it to Virginia on time today." I commanded. Matt sighed heavily just as the sound of soft crying sounded on the baby monitor.

"Oop, that's your cue daddy," I giggled and walked into the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face. When I finished, I walked back into the bedroom to see Matthew holding our son Carter in his arms who was drinking a warmed bottle of milk.

"Awe, my favorite boys," I cooed playfully, catching Matthew's attention

"Awe, my favorite boys," I cooed playfully, catching Matthew's attention. I walked towards the bed and planted a kiss on Carter's head and then one to my husband's lips. He hummed into the kiss before pulling away.

"Are you worried about today?" he asked. Something told me he was bothered.

"No, not at all. My family has a reunion every year and it's always the same as the last."

"No, I don't mean that. What I'm saying is, don't you think your family is going to be a little shocked by...?" he tossed his head side to side, trying to find the right words.

"You being white?" I finished.

"Yeah..." he said, "Or the fact that we didn't invite them to the baby shower or our wedding? I mean this is no way for me to meet them..." he sighed.

"Baby listen," I sat beside him on the bed, "I don't care about what my family thinks of you or our marriage. Half of them shouldn't even think about talking down on us knowing that their lives are far from perfect. Plus, we chose to elope and we had a small shower. So what they didn't get invited?! It was our choice. We're grown, we're happy, and we're together as a family. That's all I'm concerned about," I stated before pecking his lips.

"Okay," he grinned. I looked down at Carter and noticed he was knocked out cold. I smiled as a naughty idea entered my head.

I started stripping out of my clothes in front of him, nonchalantly.

"What are you doing?" He asked, biting his lip.

"Getting undressed. I have to shower before we go," I said innocently. I had stripped all the way down to my bra and panties by this point. Matt was nearly drooling over me. He laid Carter down in the center of the bed and quietly made his way towards me and into the bathroom for some morning playtime.

The drive there was nerve racking. I couldn't stop thinking about what my family would say. With my shady ass aunties and my overprotective uncles and cousins, anything can transpire. To be honest, I was a little scared for Matthew. I mean every black family has their presumptions about white folks, but And my family probably has some really, really strong ideas about them. We'll just have to hope for the best.
