Chapter 14: What was that?!

“Hey Ali there you are! We’ve been looking for you! “Maria shouted. I didn’t notice them coming.

“Yeah, I was just… strolling. So what’s up?” I asked.

“What’s up Ali you seems to be not yourself lately. Are you okay?” Monica asked looking at me worriedly.

“Yeah, why would you think that?” I asked confused with what they mean.

“Well for starters you went inside my class when it’s not even your class and not to mention that you look like you’re trying to get away from someone or something.”

“I was just burnt out, I’ve got lot on my plate with this ball and-“

“And you have a girlfriend now which you are having difficult time to balance your time. Am I right?” Monica continued cutting me off.

“Yeah that’s it. It’s just bringing me a lot of stress lately with this ball coming but I’ll manage. So don’t worry I am perfectly fine.” I said as I force myself to look happy. I saw Jeane looking at me with a knowing look on her face. I am pretty sure she’ll asked me later about what really happen and I don’t think I can tell her that Sarah loves Jaime and that there may be something going on between them.

“Okay, So see you guys later? Everything is all set up now so nothing to worry. You are going to bring Sarah, right?  And speaking of Sarah aren’t you going to meet her up now?” Monica asked

“Uhmm Jaime is already bringing her home. I thought that you still got something you need for the party that maybe I can lend a hand.”

“Silly, you know that everything is all set up right and besides Maria and Jeane are helping me out.”

“I just don’t want you guys to think just because I have a girlfriend now that I don’t have time for you.”

“ohhh you know we don’t think it that way. Look we are happy that you have a girlfriend and that you and Sarah are getting along. We love you and now we are happy that you are happy.” Monica said while pulling me into a hug.

“Yeah and we know you are always here for us and I’ve always like Sarah. I’ve always wonder why you don’t like her and now I know you like her. You just got a weird way of showing it.” Maria laugh while hugging us.

“You know, we are always here for you Ali and you can always tell us everything.” Jeane said as she joins us from a group hug.

“Ohh guys you’re going to make me cry.” I said laughingly

“We all know that’s not going to happen. Strong Ali who never shed a tear.” Maria said teasingly.

“But seriously, if you needed someone to talk to we are just here you can always talk to us. Okay?” Jeane said

“Yeah, don’t worry I’m going to take that offer when I need it. I promise.” I said while looking at the sky. “Come on, before we’ll be late for your party!”

“ohh right! Can’t wait to parteey!” Monica said while giggling and we all laugh.

We are now heading to our car when I saw her standing behind my car. She didn’t saw us because she’s at the other side while facing the other direction from us. She seems to be like looking for someone judging by the way her neck extended and head moving back and forth. I bet she’s looking for Jaime, maybe a little bro left her after all and didn’t bother to give Sarah a ride. Wonder what reasons he might have but I’m going to kick his ass for not giving her a ride. What if I’m already gone and no one was able to give her a ride. I know her house is just a few block from here and she’s used to walking alone but it’s almost dark and somebody might hurt her or something.
