I don't own Assassination classroom nor do I own the characters.
The climb was steeper than she remembered.
Loose gravel shifted beneath her shoes as she made her way up the narrow mountain path, the morning air cool against her skin. Strands of strawberry-blonde hair—long enough to brush her mid-thigh—caught in the breeze behind her, glinting softly in the sunlight. Her amethyst eyes stayed fixed ahead, calm, almost detached... as if she'd already accepted whatever waited at the top.
She had been told only the night before.
Not that it mattered.
Deep down, she had always known this day would come.
The Night Before
The front door clicked shut behind the twins.
To anyone watching, they were almost identical—same posture, same poise, same sharp intelligence reflected in their eyes. But to those who truly looked, the differences were impossible to miss.
The boy's gaze was narrow, cutting—cold in a way that mirrored their father.
The girl's, though similar in color, was softer. Warmer. Still sharp, but not cruel.
They had barely taken a step forward when a voice sliced through the silence.
"Gakushū."
It was enough to freeze them both.
Their father stood in the shadows to their left. His expression, to an outsider, might have seemed calm—composed, even. But the twins knew better.
He was furious.
"Go and do your homework," he ordered his son.
Gakushū didn't argue. He didn't hesitate. He simply obeyed.
Then their father's gaze shifted.
The temperature in the room seemed to drop.
"You," he said, voice quieter now, more dangerous. "Come with me."
The girl glanced at her brother, her eyes pleading for something—anything.
Support. Intervention. A sign.
Gakushū met her gaze.
Then, almost imperceptibly, he gestured for her to go.
And just like that... she was alone.
The walk up the stairs felt longer than usual.
Each step echoed too loudly. Each breath felt too shallow.
By the time she reached the office door, her chest was tight—but she still knocked, still entered, still closed the door behind her like the obedient daughter she had been raised to be.
The click of the latch sealed her fate.
She barely had time to react.
Pain exploded across her face as her body slammed into the desk—then the floor beyond it. The impact knocked the air from her lungs, her vision blurring as she struggled to understand what had just happened.
Her father had never struck her like that before.
Not so suddenly.
Not so... physically.
Shaking, she pushed herself upright, one hand pressed to her cheek as it began to sting.
He didn't even look at her.
Instead, he calmly took his seat, flipping through a stack of papers as though nothing had happened.
"You are a disgrace to the Asano name."
Her breath hitched.
"Because of your appalling grades," he continued, voice cold and precise, "I have no choice but to send you to E-Class."
