"Klaus and I faked the sun and moon curse dating back over a thousand years"

"But if there's no curse"

"There's a curse. Just not that one. The real one's much worse. It's a curse placed on Klaus"

"What are you talking about?".

"Klaus has been trying to break it for the last thousand years. And you are his only hope".

"What is this curse?"

Elena's phone buzzes "Your phone will not stop its incessant buzzing. Answer it, please".

The doppelgänger picks it up, frowning as she listens "Stefan...what's wrong? No. No, no, no, no. Okay, I'll be right there".

"Klaus went after Jenna. I have to go to her".

"I'm afraid that wasn't part of today's arrangement".

"She's my family, Elijah. I have to. I'll be back, Laura can stay here with you. You have my word".

"That doesn't mean anything to me until you live up to it"

"Thank you" Elena hugs her sister goodbye before walking up the steps, back up to the Lockwood Mansion.

Silence fills the air as Elijah and Laura walk with one another to the house until she breaks the silence. "Why?".

His eyes meet her, understanding what she means "I see you were also released from my compulsion, just as I thought".

"But Elijah why did you compel me?".

He sighs "I needed you to live your life free of all the supernatural things but little did I know, you were the doppelgängers sister".

"Would it have been different? If you knew?".

"Maybe, maybe not".

A frown forms on her face and she steps forward "Did you love me?".

"Decide for yourself" He reaches forward, placing his hands on her head, placing an memory that has yet to come through.

Elijah messaged the brunette to meet him at a random address.

A smile forms on her face, knowing that he would be smiling as well. She walks out and hops into her car, driving to the mysterious location.

A path of roses lead to a large decorated tent with a table inside, filled with all sorts of food. Her mouth falls open at what she is seeing.

Hands wrap around her from behind, she twirls around, her eyes meeting Elijah's . Laura giggles causing him to grin whilst leading her to the table. He pulls out the chair and tucks it in once she sits down.

"You did all this?".

"Yes".

"Elijah this is amazing".

"I had a little help" He says.

His pulls his hands off her head, looking over her shoulder "Your sister is back".

Elena closes the door behind her, smiling at her sister and making her way over to the two of them.

"Welcome back".
