Chapter Twenty Six | Dancing & Drama

Laura stands outside the Mystic Falls hospital after checking in Alaric to see how he was since yesterday. He was stabbed by someone, bleeding out with no idea of who did it and Elena had to kill him so her doppelgänger supernaturalness would make sure that he comes back.

Her brown eyes spot Elena and Matt walking out together. Matt says his goodbyes, Elena walks over to her sister, letting out a sigh.

"Ready?" The doppelgänger says, earning a nod from the other girl.

They both hop into the car, Elena driving and Laura in the passenger seat. As te car reverses, it hits something. Both sister hop out to check the car or what they hit but nothing is there.

"Drive much?" A voice comes from behind them.

"Rebekah".

The blonde Original smirks before slamming Elena into the car. "Surprised? You drove a dagger through my back, Elena. It hurt".

Laura thinks through her options. One, to stay because a human can't win over an original, Two, that is her little sister and she needs to help her. The brunette human runs toward them, trying to tear the blonde off Elena but she ends up being pushed onto the ground.

"Careful, my brother said not to go near you" Rebekah turns her attention back to the doppelgänger and she tries to bite her, making her scream. In a whoosh, Elijah is there, holding Rebekah against the car while Elena stumbles to her sister.

"Are you challenging me?".

"You're pathetic. Both of you" Rebekah blurts, annoyance in her voice. Another whoosh, the blonde is gone.

"Well, I believe we have a little catching up to do". Elijah continues to talk, telling them of his mother who was in the sealed coffin. When he finishes, Elena thanks him for telling the two girls but she quickly hops in her car after Laura says she wants to talk to the Original. The doppelgänger drives away, off to the Salvatore house.

"So you said you still feel the same?".

"Yes, I never stopped loving you" Elijah replies, his eyes staring into hers.

"I don't know how I feel" Elijah's face shows sadness but then he nods.

"I understand, all the memories and feelings must confuse you".

"They do" She tucks in a piece of her hair "I feel the connection between us but I'm scared. All the pain and supernatural drama, you and your family brings is overwhelming and frightening".

"You don't have to make a decision or feel like you have to say yes to me because of everything you have seen" He pulls out an envelope "Let's start by you taking this". Laura takes the envelope and opens it, looking up to see him gone. The envelope contains an invitation to a ball.

'Please join the Mikaelson Family, this evening at seven o'clock. For dancing, cocktails and celebration'

Taking a deep breath in, the brunette turns the card over. A small message is there, it reads 'Dear Laura, I hope you will come tonight, save me a dance - Elijah'.

The doors open, allowing the eldest Gilbert to walk in to the Mansion where the ball is being held. Her long dress compliments her figure, hugging her torso before flowing down.
