"As a long-time member of the Historical Society, I am especially proud to be kicking off this day of festivities. Thank you volunteers. Tonight, we turn off our town's lights and flare up our lanterns in honor of the night of illumination started by our founders 150 years ago. Here's founding family member Tobias Fell with a history lesson" Carol says over the microphone with a grin as she speaks at the Night of Illuminations.Alaric, Jeremy and Laura are standing in the area, looking around.
"What are we doing here?"
"Tobias Fell is the head of the history department. I didn't have a choice"
"All right that explains what you're doing here"
"Well, I'm the one who can fail you if you don't help me out"
Jeremy looks at his sister "What about you".
"I wanted to be here, see how the town is going and have a nice time".
Elena joins them "Hey, sorry I'm late. What did I miss?".
"You didn't miss anything".
Tobias Fell steps up on the stage, starting his speech "The first illumination was held in celebration with the newfound prosperity that Mystic Falls enjoyed after the war".
Elena and Laura look at Jeremy when he laughs "What's so funny?".
Laura turns her head back to the man talking "That night was an opportunity for the community of Mystic Falls to come together, a chance to strengthen ties with neighbors, business owners, and the...".

The eldest Gilbert joins Caroline and Bonnie who seem to be focused on something.
"Hey, what's up?".
"Ghosts back from the dead, apparently Mason Lockwood who Damon killed has come back to haunt him" Caroline informs, sighing.
"Oh".
"Yep. Wanna come to the creepy witch house with us?".
"Sure".
Caroline grabs ahold of the two girls, vamp speeding them in front of the house. "So this is where you brought Jeremy back to life?".
All of them walk inside, the blonde vampire and brunette Gilbert look around as Bonnie goes to set up. "Yeah. Sorry, I know it's creepy, but we needed a private place around here to do the spell".
"Hm, there's no chance it's haunted by the hundred dead witches who were horrifically burned to death in this very spot, is there?".
"They're not here anymore. And they made it clear they were never coming back".
"Right" Caroline frowns as she looks around "You pinkie swear?".
Laura and Caroline start to light candles for Bonnie [Caroline is lighting candles.]
"Ready? Do you need me to do..." Bonnie is starting the spell "Right, okay". A breeze comes through the room making Laura shiver at the coolness of the breeze but Caroline laughs, handing the woman, her jacket.
The breeze continues to surround as the Bennett girl casts the spell, Objects around them start to move around. "Bonnie? I don't like this".
Laura looks at her "Bonnie?".
Something grabs a hold of Bonnie's hands "Oh my God. Is that your?".
"Grams" Bonnie whispers, smiling up at her as tears fall down her face "I can't believe you're here!".
"Now stop your crying, we don't have time for tears". Bonnie's Gram looks at Caroline and Laura "Nice to see you again, Caroline, Laura".
"Hi Miss Sheila" They both reply with smiles before she looks away and back at her granddaughter "A fine mess you've made honey. The witches told you there'd be consequences to bringing Jeremy back and you did it anyway".
"I didn't have a choice. I love him and I couldn't just let him go".
"I understand. But you cracked open the door to the other side. There's an old witch over here. She took advantage of it. She took advantage of you, honey. When you did that spell to send Vicki Donovan away, she wedged the door wide open, giving a free pass to anybody with unfinished business".
"How do you know this?".
"Witches talk. Even on the other side. Who do you think makes all the rules?".
"What does the witch want?".
"That's Original vampire business, not yours" Her eyes glance at Laura for a moment before going back to Bonnie "I don't want you getting in the middle of that. I'm here because you upset the balance of nature. And it's your duty to set it right. You need to close that door".
The blond vampire and the younger Bennett witch go off to the Salvatore house to search for the Elena's necklace. Grams moves closer to the eldest Gilbert.
"You look like your mother, sweetie" Sheila smiles "I've seen and heard about that Original in the suit, he seems to always be near you, watching over you".
"We had history...from the city before I knew he was a vampire".
"Be careful with the Originals. The whole family".
"Yes, Miss Sheila" She replies.

Bonnie comes back, lighting the fireplace and candles with her magic. Laura looks behind her when she hears someone walking into the room. It's her brother, Jeremy. "Bonnie!" He shouts. He goes to Bonnie, handing her the necklace which she takes.
The necklace is then thrown into the fire and starts to say a spell. Grams appears next to her, holding her hand as they both cast the spell together, making the necklace burn until it is melted.
"You are stronger than all of this. I'm so proud of you" Sheila says to her granddaughter before she disappears. The Bennett witch starts to cry, Laura wraps her arm around her.
"Bonnie" Jeremy tries to say to her "Just go away, Jeremy".
"I owe you an explanation".
"Matt let go of his sister before you let go of Anna. His sister, Jeremy. You know what you owe me? The respect of not making me listen to you explain yourself".
"I am sorry Bonnie"
"You need to go".
"But".
"Just go, Jeremy".
"I'll see you at home" Laura mouths to her brother, still hugging Bonnie.
As they stay there, sparks start to come from the fireplace. Both girls exchange looks before moving closer to see that the necklace is back to how it was, not burnt at all.
