Chapter Twenty Two | Compulsion of a Brother

"I feel like I'm going crazy. Totally paranoid all the time" Elena exclaims after she told Bonnie and her sister about the guy that she ran into who seem suspicious but she brushed it off,

"You have a right to be. Klaus is still out there and he knows you tried to kill him".

"Why hasn't he made a move? There has been no sign of him. Nothing. Just my slow spiral into insanity" Laura offers her a small smile, rubbing her back in comfort.

"Join the club. Every time I close my eyes, I have that nightmare. On repeat".

"The same dream?".

"Yeah! Four coffins, Klaus is in one of them. It's weird".

"What if it's not just some dream? What if it's like, you know a witch dream?".

"A vision?" The eldest Gilbert adds but Bonnie shakes her head.

"It's just stress. I'll figure it out" She looks at Elena "And what about Stefan? Has there been any sign of him?".

"He betrayed us Bonnie. The Stefan that we know is gone".

"You changed your tune" Laura says, raising her eyebrows at her sister.

"How is Damon handling it?".

"Damon is...Damon". They all look to the bar where Damon is sitting with Alaric, drinking bourbon. Bonnie leaves after a little while, so does Alaric which leaves Damon to play darts with a certain doppelgänger watching him as he does before she strolls over. Laura leans back into the chair, closing her eyes.

Elijah strokes her cheek, looking into her deep brown eyes as she looks into his. "I love these moments" He says.

"I love them too".

"Do you love anything else?" Laura smiles, shaking her head

"Nothing that I can think of" She says, smirking which he mirrors.

"Is that so Laura?".

"Yes, Elijah".

"Well then" Elijah begins to tickle her, making her erupt into giggles and she tries to smack his hand away.

"Hey! Stop it!" The brunette manages to say but he continues.

"Why should I?" Elijah says, smiling as he tickles her, her laugh filling his ears.

"Because I love you" She gives in, causing him to stop and lean in.

"Say it again".

"Elijah Mikaelson, I love you. I love you with all of my heart and I love every single moment I spend with you".

A glass smashes on the ground, waking her up. Her eye search for her sister who is standing with Damon. The eldest Salvatore leans in, making her raise her eyebrows but she leaves Elena to her flirty moment and makes her way to the Gilbert house.

"So, you're ready?".

"Vampires, hybrids and originals. No problem. My rebellious brother. I'm worried".

"Proof that you're still human"

Laura walks down the steps to the others who have set up the table for to have lunch together with Jeremy who enters the house, going straight to the fridge
