Laura is sitting on the lounge in the Salvatore House along with Elena next to her, Stefan next to Elena while Elijah stands up, occasionally glancing at the eldest Gilbert.
"Tonight is the full moon. We should assume that Klaus is prepared to break the curse".
"Elena and Laura said that the Sun and the Moon curse is fake? That it's actually just a curse placed on Klaus".
"Klaus is a vampire born of a werewolf bloodline. The curse has kept his werewolf aspect from manifesting. But if he breaks it...He'll be a true hybrid".
Damon walks out, joining them. "Then why are we letting him break the curse? We can kill him today. With Bonnie".
"We are not risking Bonnie's life Damon!" Damon looks at Laura.
"Damon...".
"No. Bonnie can't use that much power without dying" Elena adds.
"I'll write her a great eulogy".
"That's not even funny"
"You aren't even funny" Damon quips to Laura".
"It's not an option, Damon".
"All right, how do we break this curse?".
"Well, the ritual itself is relatively straightforward. The ingredients, so to speak, you already know".
"The moonstone".
"A witch will channel the power of the full moon to release the spell that's bound within the stone. After that, Klaus, being both werewolf and vampire, will sacrifice one of each".
"And where do I fit into it?"
"The final part of the ritual".
The original take a wooden box of the table while they watch "Klaus must drink the blood of the doppelgänger...to the point of death".
Damon looks at Elena, eye widen as Laura and Stefan both reach for her hand. Elena mouths 'I'll be fine' to her sister.
"And that's where you come in".
"This is an elixir that I acquired some 500 years ago for Katerina. It possesses mystical properties of resuscitation".
"So she will be dead" Laura says, waiting, eyes connecting with Elijah's.
"And then she won't".
"That's your plan? A magical witch potion with no expiration date?" The eldest Salvatore looks around in disbelief "You want to come back to life, what about John's ring?".
"Those rings only work on humans. The doppelgänger's a supernatural occurrence. Odds are, the ring won't work".
"I'll take those odds over your elixir" he turns back to the doppelgänger "What if it doesn't work, Elena?".
"Then I guess I'll just be dead".
"Elena..." Her sister says, needing her to stop being blunt and uncaring when she is talking about this.
