Chapter Seventeen | Roadtrip to Mikael

Laura looks around, lifting her head up as it pounds, aching. "What the he-".

"Hey sweetie, thought you might want to come along with Damon and I".

Her eyes widen at the sight of Katherine sitting in the passenger seat, smirking at her. She frowns, thinking back to how she got here. Last thing she remembered was coming home from the Lockwood mansion and she went into the kitchen. Wait. She then heard something upstairs, rushing up the stairs and then she was knocked out.

"Headache? Want some blood?" Katherine taunts, holding her wrist out which the Gilbert shakes her head, refusing to take any blood from her. "Fine, be like that".

She turns back to the front when Damon starts to pull over.  "Why are we stopping?"

Damon and Katheine hop out of the car, the Salvatore opens the door for Laura, helping her out.

"I thought we might want to stretch our legs. Take a break from the sexual tension. I'm tired of driving. It's your turn".

"Fine". The keys are held out for her but as she reaches for them, Damon throws them. "Hey! I-".

"We're not going anywhere until you spill your guts".

Katherine sighs before reaching into her pocket, taking out Elena's necklace. "Do you recognize this, hmm? A little birdy told me that Klaus wants to get his hands on it".

Laura stumbles a bit, feeling lightheaded and weak. Damon catches her, raising his eyebrows. "Please, have some blood so Elena won't kill me if you die".

She gives in, nodding as he bites into his wrist, handing it to her. The eldest Gilbert reluctantly drinks some of his blood. She lets go, her head feeling clearer and he ache gone. "Thank you". Damon turns back to the other woman.

"Why would Klaus want Elena's necklace?".

"Does it matter? He wants it, and I have it. It's leverage, Damon. Always stay one step ahead of your enemy".

"I'll keep that in mind".

"But more importantly, when I stole the necklace from Bonnie, I found out something else, something better";

"Oh yeah? What's that?".

"Are you willing to do whatever it takes to stop Klaus? No turning back?".

"I'm not turning back".

"Good, Because this isn't going to win you any points at home". Both the Salvatore and Gilbert watch her open the trunk to reveal Jeremy lying, unconscious.

"Katherine! What is with you knocking out my family?" Laura exclaims, rushing over to her brother.

"Jeremy? Really?".

As Jeremy lays on the table, placed there by Laura who is beside him. The other two discuss some things.

"I'm listening".

"What if I told you there was a way to kill Klaus? And not dagger dead. Dead dead".

"I'd say you were desperate and lying. Or drunk. Or desperate, lying and drunk".

"Do you remember my friend Pearl?".
