3rd Person POV
Heights.
If there was one thing that Lana feared most, it was definitely heights. She wasn't going to let Ben know about that fear, however, she couldn't. He was so happy about her agreeing to go to Texas, she couldn't ruin that for him.
Lana removes herself from Ava's strong grip as she and Ben's flight was called over the intercom system.
"Flight 178B from Moscow to Dallas, TX now boarding at gait 9C. Passengers have 20 minutes to board."
"Don't cry, Ava! I'll come back to see you! You can come out to see us." Lana wipes away her best friend's tears as Ben stands awkwardly to the side.
To say Ava wasn't pleased when Lana revealed that she was moving halfway across the world was an understatement. She was furious. If Lana hadn't been leaving so soon, Ava surely would've ignored her for god knows how long.
"You gotta do what you gotta do, love." Ava hugs Lana one last time. "Don't forget to text me and call me every day. I don't care about the time difference."
Lana nods and says her final goodbyes to Ava, and then turns to Ben, walking off in the direction of terminal 9C. Much to Lana's dismay, Ben gave her the window seat. She didn't let him know she was terrified, however. She faked a smile and sat down, buckling the seatbelt.
Thirty minutes later, the pilot announces takeoff, which causes Lana to hold the armrest between her and Ben in a death grip. She feels a rather large, calloused hand remove hers from the armrest, intertwining their fingers. She turns to Ben, and although he wasn't looking at her, she could see the smirk on his lips.
When the flight attendant announced that it was ok to move about the plane, Ben reached over and unbuckled Lana's seatbelt, which sent her into a panic.
"Relax," Ben chuckled. "You'll be fine." He pulls Lana close to him, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. She rests her head on his chest, relaxed by the sound of his heartbeat.
Lana's eyes flutter closed and the last thing she can remember is Ben kissing her forehead as he manages to wrap the blanket he brought around the both of them.
An uneventful 14 hours later, Lana wakes up to Ben shaking her lightly. "Did I really sleep that long?" Ben nods. "Why didn't you wake me up?"
"You looked so peaceful. You didn't even stir when I moved you off of me to go to the restroom."
"I slept on you for 14 hours?" Lana says, slightly embarrassed.
Ben nods again, a sheepish smile on his face. "It was big deal, Lana. Honestly, it wasn't."
The two climb inside of Ben's vehicle that he had left in the airport parking deck, immediately blasting the AC. "Who's bloody idea was it to make it 101 degrees?" He mutters, rolling down the windows.
"Especially at-" Lana pauses to look at the clock on the dashboard. "Bloody 9 a.m?!" (~A/N: I know the times probably aren't right but I truly don't care. Bare with me on this.)
Ben chuckles. "I guess you'll have to get used to it." He looks at Lana, whom is staring out his car window. "It's a 30 minute drive to Euless, but there's a pretty cool diner-ish type restaraunt halfway there. There's an outlet mall with a Forever21 or some girly store in it right next door, we can stop there and get you some more comfortable, weather appropriate clothes, if you'd like. I wanted to take you sight seeing a little before we got to my-our- house."
"Did you just say our house?"
"I did indeed. You're living with me now, it's your house too."
Lana smiles, looking at Ben, who's concentrating on the road ahead of them. "I appreciate all this, you know that right?"
"I do. I'd do anything for you, you know that right?" Ben asks, reciprocating Lana's question. She simply nods in response.
About 3 hours or so later, Ben and Lana are sat opposite each other in a booth at Cracker Barrel, a place Lana had obviously never been to, due to her never being outside of England or Russia. Lana was born in Moscow, Russia, but her family moved to Brighton, England when she was a little under a year old.
While Lana was gazing over the menu, Ben was gazing over her in her new clothes. In addition to getting her a new outfit, he had paid for her to her her hair, makeup, and nails done, which Lana was eternally grateful for. Ben wanted to pamper Lana, she certainly deserved it after all the shit she had just went through. She deserved the world, and even though she and Ben weren't together, he was determined to give her the world.
No matter if it tore him apart.
(~A/N: Sorry if this sucks, I'm kind of in a rut.)
