“So many wet leaves!” Davina exclaimed, pulling from the heels of her boots the sticky ones, “And there's a bunch of them stuck under my boots.”

“Well, we are in the woods you know,” Kol glanced over his shoulder at her, narrowing his eyes playfully, “We should consider ourselves lucky, since today it's not raining.”

Again, she let out a huff and kicked out of her way another pile of leaves, all of them dancing aimlessly in the air before falling around her. Heck she hated forests. “Where are we going anyway? I thought you would show me the village but, we are just wandering around the forest for no reason.”

They must have been walking through the forest for a while now. Davina could feel the breeze there, and the cold weather was not helping at all with that. The tip of her nose had turned into a light shade of pink, adorably so. Yet, she was tired of following after Kol, her legs had the tendency to give up on her evey now and then and thank god there were trees everywhere which saved her from an embarrassing fall.

On the top of that, as if she hadn't been through enough, Kol wasn't giving her any hint of where they were going. And in her mind every case scenario with the two of them alone in the middle of nowhere, ended with her being killed by the young Mikealson.

Not to mention the way his mood suddenly changed. Just a few hours ago he was infuriated and now he was all playful again. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with those people?

“Well there's a reason for it. Do you recall what was said yesterday night? About the Red Full Moon? The villagers are taking care of the preparations that need to be done the day before. And having us walking around doing nothing would be a big bother for them, ya know. So, that's one of the reasons we are in the forest.”

Ugh what's up with all these secrets and mystics?

“One of the reasons?” she repeated.

He smiled. “You sure are an impatient one. You'll have to wait and see. I'll explain later.”

Davina simply scoffed, rolling her eyes. “Yeah, I was told that before.” See? No words were coming out from his mouth about their destination. It was, very frustrating. And since she couldn't stand this awful silence, she decided to speak up again. “Um, this Red Full Moon celebration... what's all about?”

“It happens once in ten years, like it was mentioned before. Um, you see it is kind of hard to explain about it-”

“Werewolves. I know all about them.” she cut him off, realising the hesitation behind his words. “So is it a celebration dedicated to them?”

Kol was... taken aback by her straightforward answer. "She knew about them?" Yet, she did not speak a word about it? And all of a sudden, she admitted it now that she had heard of this stuff? If he thought Davina was already a mysterious girl, then now he was sure there was more than met the eye about this young lady.

He instantly came to an halt, spinning around in order to face her. “Woah, hold on there. Don't just blurt it out and then move on like it is something ordinary.”

She sighed. “Well, I thought it wouldn't be bad if you knew too that I acknowledge their existence.”

Okay, this was getting very confusing. “Too..? So I am not the first you told about it?”

Davina wrinkled her nose, as if his inability to understand the situation was annoying her. “Well no. Rebekah knows too. And your mother.”
