"Guys, I have so many-"
"You are even more beautiful than I remember." Ethan did not avert his eyes from her even for a split second, he just kept staring at her warmly and sweetly the whole time. His smile seemed brighter than his own pearly white teeth.
While Davina was flustered by his abrupt comment, Kyle sighed and barely resisted the urge to roll his eyes at the guy next to him. They had sat across the little witch and, for the past few minutes, none of them dared to speak. They were just sitting there in awkward silence, unsure of who was to take the first step.
"This is not why we're here, Ethan." Kyle quietly said, making the other's smile slowly fade away.
"... Right." unlike just a few minutes ago, he seemed gloomier with his hooded eyes losing their previous spark.
Davina glanced first at Ethan and then Kyle. What was going on here?
And here she thought this wouldn't get more complicated than it already was.
Ethan took a big breath, leaned forward and slightly smiled with bitter look. Huh? What was up with his expression? "Davina. You must be really confused seeing us from all people here aren't ya?"
Well it's certainly... surprising.
"Ethan... Kyle, I-"
"Before you say anything, we already know," Ethan suddenly cut her off, "Esther told us. She explained us what happened."
"But she really didn't have to..." Kyle muttered to himself. "We knew."
The girl arched both her eyebrows. "How? How could she know about what I did?"
"She said she had always been watching her children from somewhere. She knew about your plan with Kol, that you were planning on hijacking his mind or something like that. Of course, the Esther back in Kol's memory did not know any of this."
"Nor did we." the other added.
"This... no. It doesn't feel right." Davina said sharply and looked at them with a very serious expression, "... I should be the one explaining things to you. Not her."
The boys looked surprised.
Taking a deep breath, Davina began talking again. "The truth is, I was never honest. With any of you. Not Rebekah, not you two, even with Kol. When I had set my plan in motion and managed to invend Kol's mind in the present, I was actually going for a different memory of his. But I ended up being trapped in a memory of his from one thousand years ago. When he was still human. And then I met him again. I got to know Kol all over again, in a memory I was not even part of. I had to keep my indentity a secret though. If I revealed anything, that could really confuse things."
"Human huh..." Kyle murmured. "It's been a long time since then."
Now it was the girl's turn to look perplexed. "What do you mean?"
Ethan chuckled sarcastically. "I thought you had figured that out, sweetheart. Especially after Kyle over here gave you so many hints."
Kyle shot a death glare at the blue-eyed guy. "Why are you being all dramatic and not explaining things directly? It's not like she hasn't considered it as a possibility."
"What are you two talking about?" Davina popped in with a very frustrated look.
Kyle sighed. "Ethan said before Esther has been watching over the Mikealsons from 'somewhere'. Correct?"
