"Well," Ethan took a big breath, "It's nice to be back after this crazy journey."

The sun was rising. They had returned before the morning since they had decided they shouldn't sleep through the entire night. They had to go back as soon as they could owing to the fact Kol needed medical treatment. Or at least, that's what Kyle and Ethan thought. His wound was already healed thanks to Davina's healing spell, even though Kol still had to pretend he wasn't entirely healthy.

"Yeah, good to be back." said Kyle and turned his attention to the rest of the group. "I'm gonna go. Since we succeeded and all, I suppose we can inform the men about the hunters later."

Kol nodded in agreement. "Yes, we should rest for now and talk about it later in the morning."

Kyle seemed so impatient, probably because he wanted to get this "journey" over with. Typical old Kyle. He began walking away when he suddenly came to an halt and threw a glance over his shoulder. "Ethan are you coming?"

The other guy chuckled, "Yup, right up." he said and with a small bow to Kol and Davina, he jogged after Kyle.

Once the pair was left alone, standing next to each other, the Mikealson narrowed his eyes sceptically. "What's wrong, love? You've been quiet ever since we took the way back."

Yes, that was true. She remained silent the whole time and that's because she knew about something she couldn't tell even the human Kol. There was not much time left. She had to be prepared to say goodbye to this memory. She had to find a way to say goodbye to him. And somehow, that single thought sent shivers down her spine. Because, as a matter of fact, Davina liked this place. This version of Mikealsons. The people. But she was no idiot. She knew she just relived a memory. None of this was real. She had never met those people, not Ethan, not Kyle, not Esther.

And not to mention she had left so many things undone back to the present. Josh was still waiting for her. Marcel sooner or later would find out what she did and she would have to confront him. And what about Kol's siblings? His disappearance? Certainly they must have noticed. And the worst of all, was that she had no clue where the gold dagger was kept. And she hadn't much power left in order to keep digging in his head.

She had to return back now. Today.

Davina just shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly. "It's nothing, I am just glad we're back."

Kol smiled. "Well, it's a shame you missed the Red Full Moon festival but, I'm sure we can make up for it."

Make up for it?

"What do you mean?"

"I mean," he began, turning his body to face her, "Since we succeeded and we got rid of those bastards, there will be held a bonfire tonight. You know, for the success."

Davina bit her lip. "Oh no Kol, is that really neccessary?"

"Why not? It will be fun." he smirked but the next second that playful smirk had already disappeared from his face. He was looking at her warily. "Okay Davina, just tell me already. What's the matter? I can obviously see that you're worried about something."

She sighed. Was it that obvious, really? "I'm just exhausted, Kol. Really. That is all. Why should I be worried about anything?"

The Mikealson wasn't convinced. Regardless, he just nodded and cleared his throat. "Fine. We should go back. I'm sure Rebekah will be glad to see you're safe and sound."

"Yeah." she simply muttered.

Indeed, Kol was right. The moment those two stepped in the small 'house', Rebekah jumped from her seat and ran toward them, imprisoning them into an asphyxiating hug. Esther welcomed them with a polite smile on her face, hugged her son and just told him she was proud and what a great job he had done. But Davina noticed. There was no warmth in her words, no trace of  a mother's love when she hugged her own child and even her own smile did not resemble one of a mother's. But that's just how she must have always been. So restrained. So down-to-earth. It was a bit scary actually, how serious she was.
