--- Marlee's Point of View ---

I have school today. So does he.

Great.

I did my normal 'morning routine' and said bye to Greg and my Mom. I decided to fix things with my mom because she was partially right.

"Bye Greg! Bye mom!" I called as I walked out the front door.

"Bye sweetie!"

"Bye Marlee!" they called as I shut the door.

I walked down my driveway to my car. I looked around my quiet cull de sac.

No truck. Good.

I blasted my music attempting to try and block out the sadness. No luck.

I parked in my usual spot and walked over to Sara who was sitting at the table. She's here early. Again.

"Hey Sara. How was the date?" I asked smiling.

"Good. He's super funny." She giggled, probably remembering something he said last night.

"Nice. Why are you here early?"

"Well, Natalie has had the flu, so my mom drops me off early so she can get back to the house before she wakes up." Natalie's was Sara's 12 year old sister. She was in the same grade as Greg.

"Oh that sucks." I told her.

"Yeah. I hate waking up early." I could tell she wanted to know what happened yesterday but I still wasn't ready.

"Me too." We laughed as people slowly started arriving one-by-one.

Eventually the bell rang.

I went to my first class for today.

"Sara?"

"Here"

"Jason"

"Here"

"Marlee"

"Here"

"Sam? Sam Sanchez? I think he's new."

Nothing. He didn't come to school on his first day.

"Bethany?"

"Here"

He continued with the rest of the list.

After school, I went to the front of the school with my friends as usual. I had been distracted all day.

Stupid Sam.

"Dude! And then she said...." my friends continued as I pretended to listen. I just tuned them out though.

"Bye guys! Im gonna go now!" I waved and walked to my car.

I checked to see if there was an annoying Asian boy waiting for me. No one was there.

I drove home and walked inside the house. "Hi Marlee" Greg said.

"Hey" I said and walked up to my room.

I grabbed my phone and checked to see if there were any messages from Sam.

Right, I blocked him.

6 hours.

I've been crying for 6 hours now. Yeah yeah I'm a 'cry baby' what ever.

My mom has knocked on my door multiple time but I would just yell "Go away! I'll be out when I'm ready!"

But I was never going to be ready. Until I was with Marlee again.

I've tried texting and calling her but it goes straight to the fucking lady saying 'I can't call this number'.

I don't care about fucking charges. I need to talk to Marlee.

I couldn't go to school today because I couldn't even stop crying. How was I supposed to learn for 6 hours if I can't even see without the tears making my eyes blurry.

But I needed to see her. Now.

--- Marlee's point of view ---

After school, I plugged in my headphones and did homework for hours to keep my mind off things.

A couple hours into my work, I heard a 'honk' from outside.

I looked out my window and saw a white pickup truck in the dim light.
