I walked out to the front and saw "stalker boy" leaning against the flag pole.

"Hey Marlee!" he said smiling.

"Ugh" I said and turned back around. he jogged back up to me.

"Hey. Where are you going ?" He said standing next to me now.

"Anywhere away from you" I respond harshly. I've had enough today and I'm not up for arguing with him right now.

"But why?" he asks me.

Is he stupid or something?

"Because you are as annoying as..." I stop myself. I'm better than this. I remind myself.

"Because I don't want to talk to you." I correct myself.

"Oh." he says and walks away.

What? No comeback? No comment? Just "oh" ? What's going on? Oh well. I just ignore him because I'm glad he's giving me some space.

"Hey Marlee!" I didn't even realize my friends walking up to me.

"Oh. Hey guys" I respond.

"So.. how was class?" Sara asks, trying to end the awkward silence.

"Fine." I reply simply. Even though I failed my stupid test that I've been studying for and I couldn't sleep last night but nah I'm fine.

"Okay" she said, realizing she had failed to make a conversation.

We stood in silence until Jenna's older brother pulled up. Man he's hot.

"Oh. Jacobs here. Bye."

"Bye Jenna!" we call as she walks to her brothers car. He was only a year older than us but he was still old enough for a drivers license.

We were still in silence when I decided to speak up.

"Um, I'm gonna head home... anyone want a ride?" I ask.

"No thanks".

"I'm good."

"Naw it's fine" They tell me. I'm kinda glad. I just needed some alone time.

"Okay. Bye"

"Bye Marlee" They call to me and return to their conversations.

I walked to my car in the parking lot and Sam was leaning against my car.

"Leave." Is all I say. I'm not in the mood. I'm exhausted. My dog was barking all night because "stalker boy" was standing by the freaking front door the whole night.

"Umm.. I was wondering if you want to go on a date sometime?" He said blushing.

What?

"Um.. I don't know." I really don't. I'm actually really confused.

"Um.. do you wanna think about it." he said, red as a tomato.

"Uh. sure?" I know you shouldn't tell a boy that you'll think about it cause it makes them anxious but I really truly need to process this.

"Okay." He says and turns on his heel and walks away.

That was weird. "stalker boy" nervous? It doesn't make any sense. He's always to rude and pushy and now he wants to go on a date with me?

I step into my car and pull out of the lot. The whole way home I was thinking about what would happen if we went on a date. what's the worst that could happen? I ask myself. well we could kidnap you, rape you, try to kiss you, be a total jerk, there's a lot of things that could go wrong. and I actually barely know him. I just know he stalks me.

Wait a minute. Wait one minute! The damned truck isn't behind me! THANK YOU CHRIST!! Hopefully this is over. Wait but what about the date? Oh well I'm so happy I'm free! For now.

When I pull into my driveway I see my dad standing on the porch.

"Fuck." I say and remember the talk with my dad is today.

I grab my backpack and step out of my car.

"Hey dad" I say flatly.

"Hey. So where is this boy?"

"I dunno" I tell him and its the truth.

"Well, I can't talk to both of you if both of you aren't here." Maybe that's a good thing. No. It's not, but I got rid of him so maybe I don't need my dads help after all.

"Uh. He's gone. I don't need you help anymore. I'll tell you if he comes back." I say and step past him and walk inside.

When I go up to my room to study, my phone rings. the caller ID says * Sam<3 *

What the actual fuck.

How is his number on my phone. And how did he get my number?!

I want to ignore it but I know he will just keep calling.

"Hello." I ask.

"Hi, um I was wondering if you want to, to go on that date?" he asks.

Really. I thought he would at least give me some time. Guess not.

"Um I guess so. " I say before I can think.

"Okay great! Um, is tomorrow at seven alright?"

"Um. Sure?"

"Great"

"Oh and how did you get my number?' I ask. the phone goes silent. He hung up.
