Alex POV:
"to be honest i don't really know everything." i said plainly, "i don't care just tell me everything you know." Raven pleaded.
i watched in horror as my father did what he swore was justice, a young vampire was chained to a giant pillar in the middle of the room. i was still young but i knew very well what was going to happen, as soon as the sun rose the light would go through the ceiling and burn the vampire to death.
it would be a slow and painful death, i walked to the man while no one was watching. "what have you done wrong?" i asked in a whisper. the man was shaking, "i have done nothing i regret, if loving her is what caused this i would do it over and over again." at the time i was very confused by his remark but now i understood it fully.
"kid you are my last chance will you tell her for me?" his voice was shaky with tears, "tell her i loved her and i am not sorry for anything, tell her to be happy, and to keep looking forward." he added, i nodded, "what is her name?" i asked, "Prince alex get out of her immediately!" the nanny interrupted.
"promise me boy!" the man yelled, "i promise!" i yelled back as i left the room. tears were rolling down his cheeks as the crowd gathered to watch him burn. it made me sick, my fathers rule, and the peoples blood thirsty personality. i watched in horror and honor as the man burned his face facing upward to the sun.
i waited for the woman to show up, i was sure sooner or later she would find out what happened and come to see his remains. i went there in my free time as much as i could, i was determined to give her my message, and one night near dawn i finally found her.
he stood frozen looking down at the shoes and clothes that were what was left of the man she loved so much. i wasn't sure how to approach her. the moment she saw me she panicked, "leave me alone!" she ordered as she grabbed his shirt and ran off.
i chased her into the forest all the way to the creek, "he made me promise!!" i screamed after her as she started to leave again, she stopped in her tracks and faced me, "what was he executed for?" she asked suddenly trying hard to hold back her tears.
"he was convicted for assisting in the murder of numerous vampires." "he had nothing to do with it!!" she hissed, "my father didn't need a reason, he will kill just because he can." i added plainly, anger boiled in her blue eyes, "then how about i kill someone precious to him!?" she snarled as she grabbed my by the throat.
i couldn't help but laugh, "my father hates me, i took my mothers life when i was born, he has refused to except me since that day, i wouldn't be surprised if he didn't even notice." her eyes filled with tears as she let me go and fell to the ground.
"i have nothing left now." she sobbed holding the shirt close, "i regret nothing" i said, she looked up at me puzzled, "what?" "he said he regretted nothing, be happy and move on, always keep looking forward." i said softly. it only made her cry harder, "leave!" she yelled at me but something wouldn't let me.
i walked closer, "i said leave!" she hissed. i knelt down beside her and hugged her tightly, at first she shoved me away but soon she gave up and cried into my chest.
for 3 years i protected her and took care of her, she was like an injured animal, i wanted to save her and keep her safe from ever getting hurt again, and the more time i spent with her the more i wanted to. she wouldn't tell me about her past or the man but i didn't care, i loved her and just being there was enough for me.
but things changed one day i went to the cabin where she had been staying and found nothing but a note and a necklaces. "dear Alex, im sorry, you have done so much for me and i am grateful but i cant be happy until ive made them all pay, ill come back for you when it is all over, don't worry ill make it im a lot stronger than you think. ill keep you in mind always i love you - Raven"
i searched for her everywhere, and kept looking for as long as i could, 5 years passed and she hadn't shown up. one of my fathers soldiers claimed to have killed her in a forest in the south. i had almost given up hope until i saw her in the auction house by chance.
i told her my story but the puzzled look never left her face, "i don't remember any of this." she sighed and layed back on the bed, i took my necklace out from under my shirt, "you left me this, does it mean anything to you?" she reached out to touch the necklace.
Raven POV:
the necklace was a black crystal in the shape of a fang, when i touched it an image popped into my head.
i lay with my head on Alex's thigh looking up at him, he smiled widely and ran his fingers through my hair, "don't punch me alright?" he said suddenly as he leaned down and kissed me. after he backed away i laughed, "why would i punch you? that kiss wasn't even punch worthy!" i teased.
"oh really?" he smiled as he kissed me again this time lingering, he slid his tongue into my mouth, i pushed him away. he looked at me shocked, "you'll have to catch me first." i teased as i ran down the hill.
my face turned red as i remembered, "anything?" alex asked snapping me from my thoughts, i shook my head, "nothing.." i lied nervously, he seemed disappointed, "well that's all i got......wait I've got it i could show you where every thing happened tomorrow!" alex added excitedly.
i nodded, "sounds like a good idea." alex stared at the ceiling, "i missed you" he admitted plainly, "when you get your memory back will you leave me again?" he looked over to me with sad eyes, "i don't know how things will change but i can promise you now, i don't know if ill even remember this, but i promise i wont leave you alone again." i muttered quickly.
alex sat up on the bed next to me and smiled, "and i promise to protect you with all my power." he added as he kissed me lightly on the cheek. the sensation made my heart bubble, "i tired lets go to bed." he said with a yawn, i nodded and took of my shoes and climbed into the bed.
"goodnight raven." alex yawned as he turned the light off, "goodnight." i replied sleepily, i closed my eyes and slowly drifted off to sleep.
i tried to move but i was stuck, i tried to open my eyes but for some reason i couldn't, "what's going on!?!" i wondered, "your coming to play with me!" said a familiar voice, i realized i had been tied up, "who are you?!?" i hissed mentally, "who do you think sweet heart? how many people do you know that can read minds." Grey laughed as he tossed me down onto way i assumed was a bed.
"play time." he whispered into my ear.
