Fond memories played through my head as we neared the wolves' den, i knew it had only been three years since i had visited it last but i missed it so much. i walked silently next to alex, i felt like we were finally safe finally home.

"wait are you bringing the vampire inside?!" said one guard as we reached the mouth of the den. it was a large dark hole in the side of a massive mountain. the entrance was sealed so that only a wolf could find it.

"yes." Aurora stated plainly, the man looked at her in shock, "what?!" she hissed staring straight back at him.

"its...just h he is..." "what a vampire!?" she interrupted "honestly you people have such thick skulls, no ideals for peace or equality even cross your god damn minds! look at him." she turned to face us and the guard did the same. "what has he done to you? did he kill your family?" she asked.

"no ma'am but..." "but his kind did i know the story!" she sighed, "well lets imagine this." she grabbed on to one the children that had swarmed to see what was going on, "lets just say this boy hear is a vampire." she said plainly, the boy looked around at  the eyes that watched him but he knew not to move.

Aurora took a step back, "this boys parents killed your family, and took over your land, he will more than likely grow up to do the exact same to the next generation." she took out her dagger and pointed it at the boy.

"what do you do? kill the child? his parents will surely morn his loss, his death will impact those around him, you'll have your revenge?" she said coolly. the man looked confused, "he is innocent he has done no wrong to you? correct?" she added, "i would let him go." the man said defeated.

"that's what i thought." she put her dagger away, "there will be no moving forward if we cant have some kind of peace." with that she walked into the den. the little boy ran to the other children and followed after her just like nothing had ever happened.

the man stood there a puzzled look across his face, "i understand why she is the alpha." Alex whispered to me, "ya, she is very strong but she has always had to be." i explained, he looked down at me with curious eyes, "her mother died when she was just a child, her father wasn't the closest of parents so she pretty much raised herself, she learned to stand up for herself and for those she cared about. when she got older she got closer with her father...."

i paused, "they were very close last time i saw them together..... i understand her anger toward me. it was my fault after all." "you cant help the fact you lost your memory, how could you have done anything?" he was right but some how i still felt guilty.

"welcome home." David smiled as we entered the den, the entrance was a long winding staircase that went deep into the mountain, at the bottom was where it was beautiful, a long hallway carved in the rock, the lights shined against the black walls making it seem less dark.

hallways, rooms and huge lobby rooms filled the mountain, each room, was like its own house, it had its own bedrooms, kitchen, guest rooms, bathrooms, everything. there was one room on every floor that was huge, it was a recreational room, a gym, and a place where meetings could be held.

"this place is massive!" alex exclaimed as we entered the meeting room, i looked around the room. slowly more and more wolves were floating into the room. they must have smelt a vampire and wondered what was going on.

"lady Aurora." came a deep voice from behind us, i almost gasped when i saw Paul walking toward us, he was aurora's fathers most valuable soldier he was in charge of many of the battles, he had great respect for Paul. "paul?" i questioned as he walked nearer, he turned to notice me. "lady Raven!" he smiled warmly and proceeded to pick me up.

he hugged me tight enough to squeeze the air from my lungs, "cant....breathe.." i whispered. "oh right." he said as he set me down, "why you haven't changed a bit!" he laughed, he had a deep hearty laugh, was about 6.6 and as big and muscular as 2 bears put together, with the kindest heart.

i was almost sure that to alex he was the scariest shit he had seen in his whole life, "you haven't changed much either paul." i smiled "except for the eye?.." he wore a black eye patch over his left eye, "we were battling in the west and a vampire got me with a spear, a bloody mess it was." he laughed.

his eyes wandered from me to alex, "so this is your vampire is it not?" he teased, i nodded slightly, i didn't remember having the conversation with him but i was sure it was awkward when we had it. "kinda puny ain't he?" he picked looking alex over head to toe.

"looks can be deceiving." alex defended, "hum...we'll just have to see about that now wont we?" paul challenged, "how about a match? one on one, first to hit the lights loses?" he smirked, "im game." alex smiled back.

"you are nuts!" i whispered into his ear, "what don't have faith in me? you don't really believe im a weakling do you?" he teased, i rolled my eyes, we both knew he wouldn't make it out of the fight unharmed. alex winked at me and walked into the middle of the room.

alex started toward Paul, "hold it!" aurora demanded. they both stopped in their tracks, "cant we start things of civilized?" she said rolling her eyes. Paul looked disappointed, "right." he said, with that we followed aurora up to the meeting room above the Rec. room.

"guard call the floor generals up here immediately." she ordered as she took her seat at the head of the table, "set." she ordered us to take a seat at the other end of the table, "what is this about?" a tall man with black hair asked as he walked into the room. we set silently as we waited.

with him several others came up one at a time. we did our best to avoid the glares of the men who sat at the table. "that's everyone ma'am" the guard informed after a while. aurora cleared her throat. "that man at the end of the table is a vampire, as you can tell, not only that but he is the kings son." she paused.

"what!?!" one almost yelled "he will surely come for his son." "what could we possible hope to gain by capturing him?" said others. "he is not captured!" aurora corrected, "he is here by his own free will!" the people fell silent, "and that's why i brought you hear, now we have a chance." she stood up from the table. the aura of the room was tense, i could almost taste the tension.

"we need to gather our numbers in all the regions and attack," "it has only been three years since our last failed try they.." they interrupted "silence!" she yelled, "what will you have us do? wait until the vampires are on our door step!? this is our chance, if we attack now and wipe out the king the people will have no one to follow..."

she paused again, "and who better to take control than the kings son? don't you see, we have an opportunity for peace!" she smiled, "that is what my father wanted from the beginning! he didn't want bloodshed and death, he wanted us to be in harmony." she said softly.

"what makes you think the vampires want peace?" one added, "i have seen the villages of the vampires." i spoke up, "they are poor, many women morn the loss of their husbands and sons, many pray for a end to the war, for peace, for an end to all the death. they want it just as much as we do." i stated

"then why do they kill our people without mercy?" asked the tall man, "they are afraid." alex added, "my father promised death to those and their family if they disobeyed his command, he has taken everything from them."

"then you'll have us kill your father?" the tall man challenged looking alex into the eyes, "ill kill him myself if that's what it takes!" alex said sincerely. the man looked back to aurora.

i knew alex was telling the truth but something told me it wouldn't be that easy
