"you woke me up for that?" i groaned, "happy birthday." alex whispered in my ear and moved closer to me, "alex!" i hissed. everyone laughed, "shut up!" i yelled trying to keep myself from yelling. "common get out of bed lets celebrate! hum....." she paused "what should we do?........."
"how about we go to the lake?" david suggested, aurora's smiled brightened "that's a great idea!!" she squealed, i rolled my eyes, "common get up!!!!" she whined "it will be sundown in 20 minutes we'll leave then!" with that she jumped up and started to leave. "i don't have a swim suit!!" i yelled as she went.
she looked back deviously, "don't worry i do." she winked, "you can thank me later alex!" she laughed and left, david followed behind her closely, "great" i sighed and rolled over in the bed, "sounds like fun." alex teased and put his head in the curve of my neck.
"you know..." he ran his hand slowly up my waist, "we have 20 minutes" he smiled, i turned to face him. "nope." i teased and kissed him softly. he sighed loudly, i quickly jumped out of bed and went to the bathroom.
i decided to take a quick shower, i turned the water on and climbed in, the warm water was very relaxing. i was probably in there for close to an hour, "they'll come and get me if they want me." i thought to myself, as if on cue there was a pounding on the door. "get your sorry ass out!" aurora teased
i got out and wrapped a towel around me, "ive got your swim suit!" she added as i opened the door, she handed me a solid black bikini, "im not wearing this!" i complained. "common Raven don't be a party pooper just get dressed and lets go already!" aurora whined.
i rolled by eyes and put the bathing suit on, it fit perfectly. i looked at myself in the mirror, i was skinny but had next to no curves. i sighed and attempted to whistle at myself. it came out more like a sarcastic blowing sound. "perfect." i laughed and opened the door.
Aurora was waiting, she was wearing a purple bikini, the bottom was a ruffled mini skirt, she was a lot prettier than me, she always had been. i grabbed a dry towel and threw it around my shoulders, i headed for the door, about the time i reached it alex walked in, he was shirtless.
i blushed a little, "damn." he teased and tried to hug me, "no way!" i laughed and dodged his attack, he laughed. about that time david walked in. now don't get me wrong, david was aurora's and i loved alex anyway but that guy was FINE!!
i did my best not to let my eyes linger on his broad shoulders and thick muscles, his dark tan only made it harder. "told you he was hotter." aurora whispered in my ear as we all headed toward the door. i rolled my eyes and walked closer to alex, he grabbed my hand as we left the den.
"so where is this swimming hole?" alex asked as we walked through the forest just outside the den, the sun had just set and the moon was crawling over the mountain. lighting our path with cool moonlight, it was a beautiful night but for some reason i was uneasy.
at the time i figured it was because i was wearing a swim suit. "brings back memories right?" david laughed bringing me from my thoughts. "it does." i smiled, "lots of memories, i miss back when we were all kids." i admitted
"life was so simple, we had no worries and believed the world was an easy place to be." aurora added. "ironic how naïve children are isn't it?" she smiled sadly, "if only the world was that way." "maybe it can be." alex encouraged, "maybe things can change."
i hopped he was right, we all wanted nothing more than just to live simple normal lives. "there's the lake!!" aurora yelled and took of running. with a laugh we all followed after her, we met the lake at a cliff. it was about a 30 foot drop into the water.
without a second thought aurora and david jumped in, i paused at the bank and watched as they surfaced in the water, "how is it?!" i asked, "its warm, come on in!" she laughed swimming after david. i looked down, the jump seemed a lot bigger than i remembered, alex grabbed my hand.
"we jump on three." he said quickly, "wait alex." "one" "i don't want to jump" "two" "alex!!!" "three!!" he jumped and pulled me with him, i squealed the whole way down, the cold air rushed around us as we fell. splash, we hit the water, the simi warm water was welcoming.
i burst to the surface with a smile, my heart was racing, "that was so fun!!!" i yelled. i looked around me. everyone was swimming toward the shore in a panic.
i looked around, there was nothing. "whats going on?" i yelled after them. aurora looked back to me a look of horror on her face, "there were gunshots in the direction of the den!!" she screamed.
my heart started to race, the wolves didn't use guns, something was terribly wrong. we made it to shore and ran back toward the den, by the time we got there it was obvious, "the war has begun" i thought as looked over the scene.
dead wolves lay spread across the ground, vampires and wolves clashed in a blood thirsty struggle, "so much for peace."
