.....................................................

I was on my way over to Chris' and Pj's dorm. I've called them a few minutes ago, and Jesus, were they worried. I didn't even get why. I was an adult and they weren't my parents, though they liked to act that way sometimes.

I had told them I had stayed with 'a friend' overnight, and I was guessing they were making their assumptions, and that there was definitely a lot of explaining to do as soon as I would've knocked their door.

I wasn't really sure what to tell them, though, and I felt like they wouldn't believe me anyway.

Knock knock knock.

"Phil! There you are!" Pj opened the door and wrapped his arms around me for a few seconds, his tall figure almost hiding Chris who stood behind him.

"Pj, I told you he'd be fine."

Pj rolled his eyes. "I was still worried, okay?" He turned his head to look at me again. "Where were you?"

"With a friend? Like I told you? Christ."

"You have any friends outside of uni?" Pj raised his eyebrow. "Tell me more."

I rolled my eyes. "Ha-ha, very funny."

"No, I mean it." But then he laughed and made space in the doorway to let me walk through. "You want some tea? Coffee? Water?"

"Coffee, please."

Chris nodded and turned on the coffee machine in their room (which I was consistently jealous of).

"So? Who was it you stayed with tonight?"

Pj sat down on their bed while I sat down on the sofa. I rolled my eyes again when I heard his question. "You don't know him."

"So it's a guy?"

"Why does it matter?"

"Because of, you know, 'the gay'." He chuckled a little and I looked at him with an annoyed expression on my face before I gave in and chuckled, too.

"It wasn't like that. We just watched some Netflix and fell asleep on his sofa, that's all."

Now even Chris chuckled. "Even you realise what that sounds like, don't you?" He walked over to me and handed me a mug, now filled with coffee. "Netflix and chill," he sang, and I let one of my hands run through my hair in frustration while I sighed.

"So, are you gonna see him again?"

"We're friends. That's all."

"We're friends, my ass." Chris laughed a little and sat down next to Pj.

"For heaven's sake, he has a girlfriend, okay?"

I watched Pj's jaw drop. "So you're a home wrecker now?"

"Guys! I didn't- Nothing happened between us, okay? We're friends. You know I wouldn't do something like that."

"Ha! But you thought about it, didn't you?"

"What? Why would I?"

But Pj just smiled. "So, what's his name? What is he like?"

"Guys, I swear to God-"

"Is he cute?" Chris asked, and I rolled my eyes. Twigs had asked me the exact same question.

"That doesn't matter. He has a girlfriend. How many times do you have to hear it until you understand that?"

"Tell us his name, at least," Pj begged, and I glanced at him while sipping on my coffee.

"Dan," I muttered, and Chris and Pj looked at each other for a second.

"Dan? Is he American or something?" Pj asked, and Chris nodded.

"What? No?"

"But Dan sounds so American," Chris then said, and I couldn't help but hide my face in my hands.

"How am I putting up with you," I mumbled before I looked at them again. "It's short for Daniel, and even if he was American, I don't see why it would make a difference."

"Well, if you end up marrying Dan you might move to America with him and we-"

"Alright, that's it." I placed my mug back on the table in front of me and Chris and Pj started laughing.

"We're just joking around, calm down."

But I just threw an annoyed glance at him.

"Hey, have you talked to Twigs lately?" Pj asked, and I was rather glad they had finally dropped the topic.

"Yeah. She seems alright, considering the circumstances."

"She's leaving soon, isn't she?"

"In a month, after the semester is over."

Pj nodded, and Chris opened his mouth to say something, but shut it again right after. So instead, Pj spoke up. "Maybe we should plan something like a goodbye party. I feel like that'd be nice."

"I agree," Chris said and I nodded. "Yeah, I think she would like that."

"It's settled, then. How about we throw it in... three weeks?"

"Sounds good to me." I smiled a little. The fact that Twigs wouldn't live in the same house as me anymore once the next semester had started still didn't really make sense to me, but I'd have to deal with it somehow.

"Who should we invite?"

"Everyone from her classes. And some people she knows because of us. And oh, Phil, you should invite Dan."

"Chris, stop."

But he just laughed. "I'm being serious, though. If you want to, you can invite him. I wanna meet your new lover."

"Chris, if you don't shut up right now I will throw this coffee in your face."

"I will throw this coffee in your face." He mimicked me in such a funny way that even I had to laugh.

"Oh, shut up, Kendall."

"Shut up, Kendall."

Something about this, we weren't sure what it was, but something was incredibly funny, and we couldn't stop laughing.

It was Sunday, which meant I didn't have any classes that day. So I spent another hour or two with Chris and Pj before I left their room, a smile on my face.

"Promise to visit us again soon, son!" Chris called after me, and I rolled my eyes playfully.

"Text me," I just said, and closed the door behind me. Those stupid dorks, I swear to God. However, I couldn't help but smile; they were my best friends, after all.

i'm sorry it took me so long, and i know this is a short chapter, but well, my mental health isn't the best atm so even editing fashion blogger (my other fic) is quite the challenge for me, and i don't even have to think of a plot for that because i'm literally just editing it

i mean i already thought of a plot for butterflies and hurricanes i just can't bring myself to write it

sorry, i know i'm a disappointment lol. i also know that probably no one reads this anymore. but oh well. i want this thing to be completed at some point.

my cycle atm is sleep, go to school, sleep, get up to have dinner, sleep, go to school, sleep, get up to have dinner, sleep - i think you can imagine the rest

i'm not even exaggerating i wish i was
