I have to get out of here. Soon. It's been another day without food or water, and God knows where Kirstie was dragged off to. Marcus could've killed her for all I know. I'm getting worried and scared, more than I already was. I'm losing hope. My faith in Avi is slowly fading, no matter how much I try to hold out. As I'm sitting here trying to figure out some way to get out, something vibrates and glows from under my chair. What the...? I move my head, trying to figure out what it is, and see something that instantly lifts my spirits. Kirstie's phone! I think I can get it. I reach my foot back as far as I can and bring it forward slowly with my shoe. Well that's done, but how do I use it?
This was not very well thought out.
Maybe I could use my toes. Yeah. I kick off both my shoes and yank my socks off using my feet. It sounds weird but it works. From what I can tell, the vibrating was bcause Avi sent a message. Basically asking were she was and if she had found me. I rattle off a message with my toes, which of course results in way to many typos. I'm not even sure if it'll be readable. If I had been typing with my fingers, it would've looked like this:
Avi, it's Alyss. Kirstie found me but then Marcus found her and it's a long story. Anyway, I don't know where I am or where he took Kirstie, but I'm scared and I don't know what to do. You need to find me. I'm alive and well, for the most part, but I don't know when that could change. Please Avi, I need you to find me. I love you, and I believe in you.
It probably won't do much good. I have no clue where I am. The only person who does is Kirstie, and Marcus dragged her off to... somewhere. As I'm sitting here waiting for something to happen, I realize something. I have a phone. A phone that can dial these three numbers: 9-1-1. Why didn't I think of this earlier, you might ask? My response: I have no clue. I dial 911 and put it on speaker phone. I'm getting good at foot typing. That's a skill I never thought I'd have. It rings once, twice, three times before someone answers.
"Nine-one-one dispatch, what is your emergency?"
My voice is quiet and raspy as I answer, "I've been kidnapped by my ex-boyfriend. He's a convicted serial killer and I don't know where I am. He's got me and my friend. Her name is Kirstie."
"Alright miss, please try to stay calm. What is your name?"
"Alyss Whitfield."
"And the name of your captor?"
"Marcus Kirk."
"Alright ma'am. Has he made any death threats since he captured you?"
"Not that I know of."
"Do you know where he's keeping your friend, or if she's alive?"
"No, and no."
"Okay. Do you have anyone we could call that would be interested in helping to look for you?:
"My boyfriend. Avi Kaplan."
Our conversation goes on for a long while, her asking me questions about stuff. After she's done talking to me, she tells me that they're going to send police officers out to look for me. I thank her and hang up the phone call. Now all that's left to do is wait.
