You had been on a two day quest to gather more supplies with a few guards just outside your home, Trikru.
Just as you'd gotten back you had surprised your commander with a rose to which she smiled as if you'd presented her a bejeweled tiara. To be honest, she was only smiling because you were the one giving it to her.
After Costia had fallen you'd been her arm to lean on and to grab for support. And she turned into yours. If you were ever faced with danger she'd make sure to end it without question. Even if they actually meant well. Nothing meant as much as you did to her and she to you.
"I've missed your presence over these long two moons." She'd said which made you smile as you rubbed her tattooed back gently as she sat comfortably on the edge of her bed and you behind her.
"Two measly days cannot compare to the year you'd left to try to settle things with Azgeda." You chastised playfully, moving your hands up and carefully braiding her hair neatly.
"I was leading my people." She nodded a little.
You understood, of course, but when Lexa was away you were at your worst. One day while she was still gone, it must've been about 5 months passed, 4 Azgedian men came to present some kind of treaty and you'd beheaded them without hearing a word. You were flaming, anger rose through your veins and everything vanished the instant she hugged you close and kissed your lips.
"I love you, (Y/n). And would never mean to cause harm to you." She turned her head to look at you and you smiled slightly.
"I know." You agreed and pressed a warm kiss to her lips when there heard a thump in the other room where Clarke, Titus, and John had been. Both your heads shot to the open door, hearing muffled arguments.
You were about to stand when Lexa's hand gently touched your knee and you stayed seated.
She arose, "I'll just see what's going on." She smiled pleasantly.
"Make it quick. I've missed you." You said and she smiled wider as she stepped through the door and just a quick second later a loud bang erupted.
You sat there for a few minutes, knowing she wouldn't appreciate it if you had followed her but three minutes past and your curiosity took it's toll.
You stood and walked through the same walk-way and was instantly struck with a pain you'd never felt before when you saw Clarke worriedly pressing her black covered hands to Lexa's stomach as she laid on a bed.
Titus had wiped some of her blood and was speaking Trigedasleng you couldn't hear.
You stood there for a few seconds in pure shock before lunging forward as tears flooded down your face. You shoved Clarke aside and grabbed Lexa's hand.
"We'll get you to medical and you'll be alright." You told yourself and Clarke shook her head sadly.
"It pierced a major artery... Your people won't know how to handle it... And we don't have the tools." Clarke swallowed and you cried more.
"Lexa... If you die, I die." You closed your eyes but she weakly squeezed your hand to open them.
"Don't say that." She coughed quietly.
"Maybe one day we'll be two people meeting again for the first time. Different, but our souls will be the same. Connecting again and again. Over and over. In every life time, I will love you the same. Maybe the next will be longer." She said which made your heart melt."I feel like I've loved you a million life-times and have lost you a billion... You can't die... You can't." You pleaded with her and she smiled a little.
"I'm losing you too. But only for a while..." She raised a hand to stroke your cheek gently. "I'll love you again soon." She told you to reassure you but you knew you'd never see her again.
You'd never believed in reincarnation, no matter what your parents, the priest's, and Lexa tried to stick in your head. It wasn't possible realistically."I love you, Lexa. I've always loved you. Only realized it a little later." You smiled and kissed her quickly. Her cold lips sent chills up your spine.
"I can't wait to see the look on your face again when I first kiss you." She smiled almost excitedly and you cried because you wouldn't be able to see it again.
She spoke of again and you spoke of never.
"I love you." She finally said which shattered your soul.
You kissed her again which was also the last time. She'd smiled and exhaled her final breath into that kiss.
You took a deep breath, stood up, and let Titus do his thing.
"I'm sorry." Clarke whispered in a hushed voice as tears crept through her own eyes.
"Me too." You replied as you watched Titus with a frown.
I'm sick again :(
