One second everything was fine, sure there were a few clouds in the sky but the temperature was mild. Normal.

And then wham, out of no where came a rain like no other. Acid rain. Rain which burned your skin as if you'd just been hit with a piece of burning coal.

People ran, tripped, and got inside if they were lucky. About 7 weren't.

You had been very lucky and caught yourself inside before people kept pushing and crowding.

You cleansed yourself in the water tanks and grabbed a coat, swooped it over your head and dragged in a few stranglers.

Bellamy was torn. They'd sent a party out to retrieve supplies. One of the hundred were there. One of you.

Bellamy treated all of you like best friends, ever so attached. Even if you'd barely known him, he'd care if you'd gotten hurt. That's who he is.

"Peter." He grunted to Kane.
"He was one of the hundred."

He tugged on a strange hazard suit which had holes from wear and duck taped them. It surely couldn't hold.

"Bellamy, it's too late. That suit is 98 years old. You'll die if you go out there." But without hesitation he tugged on the hat and stepped out into the now dark Arkadia and screamed.

You stepped forward out of habit from a ear bleeding scream, especially from the mouth of your friend.

"Bellamy! Get back here!" Father-figure Kane decided to yell out to his son-figure.
Their relationship had always intrigued you. Two people thought to hate each other form a bond.

"Bellamy!" He yelled again and you shook your head.
Kane should know by now who Bellamy is. A survivor.

Once Bellamy reaches the Rover and climbs inside, Marcus nearly knocks you over when he begins to run to the receiver.

"Bellamy do you copy?" He tenses.

Bellamy's shaken voice replies and both yours and Marcus' heart slow down to normal.

You suck in a breath and decide to walk off, knowing Bellamy wouldn't back down but wouldn't win their lives either. As tragic as it seemed. He tried and tried to save people and has, but so many times has failed.

"Hey." You greet Jasper with a smile and he grins back to you.
"Headed somewhere?"

"Might go for a walk." He says and you scoff.

"Outside?" You quirk a brow and cross your arms.

"Maybe." He shrugs. "No rain has ever bothered."

"Maybe not normal rain but the forecast is rain that tears your skin and can kill you." He rolls his eyes at this and continues on.

Later, maybe twenty or thirty minutes later you return to Marcus who's still speaking through the reciever.

"...your mother would be proud. I know I am." He says and your heart smiles. He's too kind.

But of course Bellamy doesn't give in to the son and dad play and says. "You floated my mother."

Marcus sighs and finally drops the walkie and you press yourself against the wall to show you weren't eavesdropping.

He wipes his head in frustration and cracks his knuckles.

"Oh, hey Kane. How'd the talk go?" You start your play as if you'd hadn't heard him.

"Fine... Mind keeping him talking? I just remembered I hadn't called Abby yet." He stammers and walks off quickly.

You inhale and take a seat in front of the receiver.
You gently grab hold of it and raise it to your mouth, reluctant to speak.

"Hey." You say calmly and wait.

"(Y/n)? Where's Kane." He wonders and you frown.

"Gone to mope."

"So you heard what I said?" He sighs. "I didn't mean it like I said it. I'm just angry." He admits and you nod to yourself.

"I understand... Peter was one of us. One of the hundred. You protected us, were our leader... I get how you feel." You frown, thinking of the old days.

The walkie remains silent, not a sound.

"Bellamy?" You wonder if he'd given up.

"Bellamy you're no monster. Not a creature of the night with an only purpose to make things worse." You sigh after complete radio silence.
"You're the one who lives. Who perseveres in rough situations."

Nothing but static.

"You're a beautiful person. You feel it's your duty to keep everyone safe and when things go the wrong way you blame yourself. You blame yourself for a mistake. I've made mistakes I can't retell and I learned I'm only human. And so are you."

"And I..." You think for a second. "Appreciate you." You say and out in the pouring fire, Bellamy smiles.

After about five minutes of a dead silence, he finally says something.

"The rains stopped."

"Good. Come inside and I'll help you to the showers." You say offering him a helping hand.

You stand from the chair and walk to the doors and stare out the glass.

You watch him hop from the truck with slumped shoulders, walkie on his belt and a frown painted on his face.

As he nears, you open the doors for him with a smile.

He steps in and you turn and give him a huge hug. Like a hot blanket onto ice, his hurt melted away as he hugged you back.

"Thanks. For what you said." He tried to smile.

"Come on." You take his hand and lead him to the showers.

And before he closes the door,
"You can't save everyone."

You nod and frown as he closes the door shut tight and locks it.

You can't save everyone.
But you may try.
