He looked at my hand and become ever so gentle with it, "I actually used to be a nurse. I worked with every type of person." He had a first-aid kit, like the type in ambulances. "I mostly worked in ER's. I felt so bad I couldn't save them all." I started treating my hand and helping my hand. "I am sorry for what I did. I guess when I saw who I was supposed to get I got scared you would run." "What do you mean supposed to get Brody?" "I was hired to get you away from Brian." I was so intrigued on why and not in the angry way. Him helping someone and them being calm really makes Brody much more talkative and easygoing. "Why? Did I do something?" He smiled, "No... well kinda. It's complicated." I chuckled, "Isn't life itself complicated."
He looked up at me like a little kid looks at his mom. There's something that happened to him. "Brody I want to ask a question?" He was putting a cast on my arm and the pressure kinda hurt,"What is it? And I know it hurts but I want to make sure that it stays in place." "You seem like you've had a heart broken, like you seem smart and incredibly intelligent but what shields that is someone who hasn't coped with something." He looked up at me, "Two years ago, I was with a woman and I wanted to marry her, we had been together for a year. She could make me fall to her knees and I'd follow everything she said. She was like a goddess. She had long golden hair, the eyes of a leader, her kiss could silence oceans and bring on music and color. Her love was like bringing life into the world. When we made love it stopped time. Her eyes brought anyone to their knees. The hazel in her eyes were of a Queen lions eyes..."
He stopped and in his face I could sense pain, "The problem was when I would fall to my knees she'd make me doing anything and I would. I became so dependent on her. I let her control everything about me. I bought a ring and I knew I wanted to be with her. I told her I wanted to go to a big fancy restaurant and to get dressed up. She showed up looking like the goddess I first saw her to be. I told her how I felt about her and I pulled out a box that had the ring and I told her to open it. When she did I asked her to marry me, She jumped up and hugged me and said yes. I got so happy and I felt like I could fly. We were planning everything and then one night as I went to go with some friends like a month after to go and celebrate, I saw her."
"She was at a small loving restaurant and holding hands with a guy and wearing a wedding ring that I didn't get her. I felt so crushed I starting feeling so much anger, I felt my blood boiling and my face getting hotter and hotter. It was pouring and I felt like I couldn't move and she saw me. She came outside to the rain and had the odasicity to ask me what I was doing here. I grabbed her hand and held it up, she starting saying I was hurting her, that she couldn't pull away. All I said was why. I felt so angry and she started saying that I was the affair and it didn't mean anything at first."
"My grip got harder and harder. I felt my entire world collapse I wanted to scream and break everything. All she could say was [Brody I'm sorry], then I heard the pop and she screamed. I ripped the ring off and threw her hand down. I never wanted to see her again. I hated her. I didn't say anything all I did was look at her with so much cold and hatred. I left her in the streets while she was holding her hand and I wanted no contact with her. Then about two months ago she contacted me. Saying how sorry she was and that she left her husband and she wanted me back. She told me they were divorced and that she cried every day over me. I agreed to have coffee with her and the second I saw her I wanted to forget everything. Every little crap I dealt with her, I wanted to start over."
I could see how much he cared for her in his eyes,
"Now I can see I'm her henchman and she wants to just hurt everyone and thing in her way, but my love for her is too much to be forgotten. What I have done for her could make me a prison mate for life."
I felt his pain. I just wish this wouldn't happen to people.
He held my bandaged hand and told me he was sorry for what he did. "It's ok Brody." I smiled but I still wanted to be with Brian so matter what or who stopped me. Brody wasn't a horrible person, he was just broken and didn't know how to fix himself. While I was in a trance I felt a breath on my neck and he kissed me. "Maybe you can repair my broken heart Trophy someday soon." I knew what he meant and I hated every word of it even the thought. The coldness of his eyes and his soulless eyes told it all.
