VANESSA’S POV
The day went by quickly and before I knew it, all of the class ended. The group will go to the mall today and I invited Tyler ‘cause we considered him as part of the group now. I texted my parents that I’ll be home late but I told them that I will be with Tyler and the group so they let me.
We went to the mall and us girls do a little shopping time while the boys waited for us at the restaurant they chose. Not a fancy one. We went immediately to the boys after Ashley and Tania bought some make ups. I saw them right on the corner and walked towards them. We ordered our foods and after we eat, we grab our stuffs and decided to go home.
Just then we’re about to leave, I saw the group of the soccer team blocking us. At first, I got confused which one in our group messed up with one of them but when I saw the direction of their eyes, they’re all pointing at Ty. Oh no.
They walked closer to us and I felt a fear inside myself. Tyler put his arms around my shoulder sensing my fear and he squeezed it then he let go. Not that I’m a loser or something, I mean those were the soccer players. They’re huge and they’re one of those ‘don’t mess up with’.
They walked closer and stood in front of us. They were about five in a group and Jake was in front. Their forever leader. He’s the strongest and biggest man in the soccer team. Their captain ball.
“What do you want?” Richard blocked their way but Jake looked at him from head to toe and said, “We don’t want anything from you.”
Then he looked at Tyler, “We want Tyler.” Then he pushed Rich as Tania helped him to get up and calmed him down.
“We don’t want to fight. Leave us alone.” Damon fought.
Jake chuckled, “Yeah? But your friend does so if you’ll excuse-“
“No!” I cut him off and stood in front of Tyler with my back on his chest.
“Little princess is a hero, huh?” Jake teased as he pouted like a kid and all of his friends laughed. I felt a lump on my throat and from that very moment, I felt so small.
“Leave her alone.” Tyler said as he pulled me behind him that caused me to gasp.
“Oh yeah? What’re you gonna do if I don’t?”
Suddenly, Ty pushed Jake but Jake got up quickly and came towards Tyler running. But before they could punch each other, I thought fast and..
“Hey! Stop it! I’ll let your coach know about this if you don’t stop.” I warned them as I stood between them. I looked at everyone’s reaction and I can see that they were a little bit shock.
“You can’t do that.”
“Yes, I can.” I glared at Jake. I’m really irritated to him. He’s really a jerk.
“Fine! I’ll see you in the field big head.” Jake didn’t let Tyler speak. As soon as he said that, he and his teammates left.
“Are you okay?” Ty asked me on my back.
“You’re really asking me that stupid question?” my voice raised. “It’s only day two and you had a fight already! I’m supposed to ask you that and tell me what you did to Jake. You should be apologizing or something.”
“He started it. He thinks he’s the strongest one in the group so I said things that I think it made him angry.”
“So much for your pride. You two are both wrong. Apologize to him. “
“No way!”
“Yes way. Or do you want me to tell it to your parents?” I asked and raised my eyebrow at him. I know he will give up.
He frowned. Chuck chuckled and Ty glared at him.
He interrupted and turned serious. “Dude, Van’s right. Don’t make a mess. Besides, you can’t play a game while you’re not okay with your teammates. You won’t be able to win. AND! I will not let you get close with Van if you’re like that.”
“What?!” Ty reacted with a mixed emotion but I just nodded as he looked at me.
“Okay! Okay! I’ll do it.” He gave up as he rubs his forehead.
“Good. Now let’s go home.” I told the group as I check if Richard’s okay. He’s fine, though. We walked towards the exit, said goodbyes to others and I was left alone with Ty.
I took glances at Ty and sometimes I see that he’s in deep thoughts.
“Ty, you should settle this once and for all.” I waited for his answer and waited.. and waited.. But he didn’t say a single word.
“Ty, swallow your pride please. Can’t you do it? It’s not just for me but also for your own good.” He looked at me and he gave a heavy sigh as a sign of giving up.
TYLER’S POV
I sighed. I really can’t resist if that’s what she wants. I’ll lose my rep but if I won’t do it, I’ll lose her instead. But it’s worth it right?
“Please Ty. I’m just worried about you.” My heart raced so fast. She’s worried about me? She cares for me?
“If it has something to do with you rep-”
“Fine. I’ll do it.” I said as I looked up at her. I smiled and she chuckled.
“What?” I asked her with a confused look.
“You don’t want to mess up with you face. Am I right?” she explained as she continued to laugh.
I pouted and said, “No. it’s not like that. I’ll just do it because you want me to.”
“Yayyy for me. I’m a good influence, then.”
“Yes, you sure are.”
She stuck her tongue out at me and she laughed. She’s really so cute. We both laugh and just forget what happened. Riding home with her is fun,. She can always lighten up my mood whenever I’m down. She does it effortlessly. Though sometimes I can see some part of her has loneliness but still, I can’t figure it out.
Did something happen? Her family? No, they’re okay. Her friends? Nah. Chuck? They’re like together, how come they will have a problem? Did someone hurt her? Her past? I have to know. Maybe I should know it.
VAN’S POV
Months passed by quickly. The problem with Jake was settled and they got along. Both of them were good. Jake was the captain ball while Ty is a midfielder. They won some game and they seldom lose.
Ty and I got closer and we hang out sometimes and also seldom I would see him with that brunette girl. I just ignored her. I didn’t bother to ask her name and Tyler wouldn’t even mention her when we’re together. Chuck still watched out for me and he always protects me.
All was going well with how I wanted it to be. Me? I’ve forgotten the past and moved on. But I’m sensing something bad will happen. I don’t know. Is it what they called the ‘sixth-sense of a girl’? Funny though. What could it be? I hope everything would still be okay.
