RECAP

“Well, I could be your sister.” I smiled at her as her face lightened up with happiness.

“Really?!” she asked with sparkling eyes. I laughed. “yeah. Really.”

Then she closed her eyes. “Thank you big sister. Now I know why my big brother Tyler loves you. . . .”

CHAPTER 10

What?! Did she just say that?

“What, Leah?!” I waited for her answer but she had already fallen asleep. She’s really so cute.

But I heard her. Tyler loves me? Well, I might just heard it wrong or maybe what she meant was that Tyler loves me as a sister or bestfriend or something like that.  What does she means? Is it really true?

But another question is, why am I acting like this? Do I really care if in case Leah was telling the truth, that he loves me? Do I love him also? . . .  WHAT? Did I just think of that? No. No. Never.

TYLER’S POV

I was so exhausted after the practice. I went home quickly as I drove my car. No one’s home so I’ll just go straight to the Cooper’s house.

I knocked on their door but no one popped on the door. I remembered telling Van to text me when she comes home but I didn’t received any text from her. What if something happened to her? I felt nervous but I shove it away. She must’ve forgotten it. I knocked again but still no answer so I checked if it’s open.

Yeah. It’s unlocked. Little kid Van doesn’t know how to lock a door. What if something happened to them just because they didn’t lock the door? She can be so irresponsible sometimes.

I walked to the kitchen but they’re not there. I walked to the living room and there I saw the two angelic faces, sleeping. Leah was lying her head to Van’s lap sleeping soundly. They’re so cute.

I walked closer and knelt down in front of Vanessa making a little space between us. I took a picture of them and a picture of only her. I tucked a strand of her hair to her ear that’s covering her eyes. She’s so beautiful. I really love this girl.

I brushed my thumb at her soft cheeks and down to her pink lips. Just then, she moved and I quickly removed my hand and she started to blink once. And then twice looking shocked.

“Gosh, Ty! You scared me to death!” Van said as she touches her racing heart with her right hand.

“That’s your punishment for not texting me and leaving the door unlocked, you brat.”

“Oh, I’m sorry. I forgot to text you and to lock the door after Leah started to pull me by my hand as soon as we step inside the house.” She explained silently.

I nodded and I looked at Leah who was still sleeping and to Vanessa. “Come on, let’s eat. I’m hungry.” I said as I stood up and carried Leah. Then I reached my hand to hers to help her get up. As soon as she grabbed it, I felt a shiver run down through my spine.

“Sure. Good idea, piggy.” She teased and chuckled then let go of my hand. I got frustrated that she let it go too soon. I felt empty.

“Don’t call me that.”

She laughed heartily. “Give me Leah.” She said as she raised her arms. I gave Leah to her and thought that we’re like a family. How cute. ”I’ll put her in my bed. You go make us a coffee and maybe we could just have some bread or something. Just look what’s in the kitchen.” She instructed as she carried Leah to her bedroom.

“Sure!” I managed to say before she disappeared. She will be a good mom. Okaaaay. Why did I think of that?

I made us two coffees and put it on the table and the slices of bread that I found on their counter as I waited for her. She appeared in no time and seated across where I was sitting.

“So, how’s your practice?” she asked.

“Good. How’s your baby-sitting?” she chuckled with the term. “Fine. Leah’s such a great kid. She’s so cute.”

“Yeah. She really is. But looks can be deceiving.”

She laughed at my joke and we talked about things and ate for a few minutes.

VANESSA’S POV

We put our plates and mugs on the sink then I remembered what Leah said. I was about to ask him about it but then I saw Leah rubbing her sleepy eyes looking for me in the living room. I guess that’s a sign that it should be kept as a secret.

“Hey sweetie, over here.” I waved a little to her as we both smiled and Tyler looked at me and then at Leah. She walked over towards Tyler and he carried her. “I missed you Tyler!” Leah said hugging Ty.

“I missed you too baby.” Ty said. Aww.

“You two are like father and daughter.” I chuckled. “I’m jealous now. Can’t I join?” I said jokingly while laughing but Ty grabbed me making myself stop and hugged me tight. Leah hugged me also so we’re like three in one. I was shocked and I stood there stiffed. I got over it after a few seconds and I smiled.

TYLER’S POV

As soon as she said that, I grabbed the chance. I know she was just joking but I still hugged her. We do make a great couple. Don’t we?

We all pulled away and smiled. Then the doorbell rang and I volunteered to get it. It was Van’s parents. I helped them with their things and decided to go home because I know dad and mom would be at home also right now.

“Thanks Tyler.” Mrs. Lauren said.

“No problem. Well, we’ve got to go also. Thanks Mrs. Lauren and Mr. Darren!” I called as we waved to each other and then I took Leah’s hand but she pulled away.

“Vanessa!” she called her and they walked toeach other as Van knelt down and hugged Leah.

I’ll see you tomorrow sweetie.“ Van said as she kisses her in the cheeks. Leah nodded and held my hand again. “Bye Ty!”

“Bye Van!” I smiled at her. We we’re about to go outside the door but she called out.

“And Leah? Promise me we’ll keep that as a secret, okay?”

Leah grinned and looked at me. She nodded as she looked back at Leah and waved then we continued to walk through our way home.

What was that?! Okay. I have to know.
