CHAPTER 12B- I LOVE YOU, BUT. . .

TYLER’S POV

I woke up from an alarming sound. What’s that? Right. My alarm clock. I ser the time a little bit earlier so I could prepare for her birthday. She’s 18 now. I decided to show my feelings towards her from this day on. Yes, I like Vanessa.

I got up from my bed, took a shower, got dressed in a simple blue v-neck shirt and a faded jeans together with my converse and then went downstairs. I decided to make her a delicious brownies. I had to put an effort in what I will give to her. And later, the surprise. I’ll make sure this day would be memorable for her.

I finished it up just in time then put it in a box with a ribbon. I know I’m nervous. I can see it in my hands. Great, it was all sweaty and shaking, I really am nervous.

I looked at my parent’s room, Leah’s, and Tim’s, they’re still asleep. I walked towards Tim’s bed and patted him lightly on his shoulder. “Hey. Don’t be late for school, bro.” he grunted in response and nodded lazily and I turned to leave him.

I ate my breakfast and went straight to their house. This is it. I breathe and tried to relax myself. No need to be nervous. I’ll just give this to her. Yeah right.

I put my hand on the doorknob but I retrieved it again. Shoot, I’m really nervous. I tried holding the doorknob again but just then the door flew open and I back away immediately.

Then I saw her. Those hazel eyes and her cute pink lips. Those wavy brown hair and her fair skin. She’s so beautiful. I’ll love this girl for the rest of my life. Wait. Love? I-

“Are you gonna just stand there or what?” Vanessa cut me off me off my thoughts by the snap of her fingers.

“Oh, I.. uh.. I.. “ I stammered. “Happy birthday, Van!” I finally said.

“Uh, thanks Ty. Are you okay?”

“Uh, yeah?” I answered more like a question.

“Sure.”

“hey, I got something for you.” I smiled as I showed to her the box of brownies.

“You shouldn’t have- brownies?! Yummy!” she squealed like a kid. She’s too cute. “I made it.” I said honestly.

“Really? Thank you, Tyler. Hey, I’ll just put this inside then we can go.”

“Okay. I’ll just wait here.” She went inside their house and after a few seconds, she came out with as big smile. We got on the car and drove off to school. I’ll make sure she will enjoy her birthday.
