"I know that you're hurting, I see the tears behind those eyes. And I can't wipe them clear, your love is like gold to me"
Staring at my phone in disbelief, I can't help but read over the text message that I never thought I'd ever receive.
Never in a million years did I think I would get a reply, especially given it comes two days after I sent it. I guess I'd kind of just given up any and all hope of hearing back from him. Not that I want to see him. It's purely for my conscience, as I know the guilt I'd feel if I didn't at least try to inform him of my current... predicament. Not to mention the incessant nagging from his sister. I couldn't do that to their family, especially not after they'd taken me in, and treated me like one of their own.
Picking up my phone in quite a frenzied state, I dial Gemma's number, hoping that she answers. I mean, this is what we wanted, though I never thought in a million years that he would ever respond to me, and now, here I am, absolutely clueless on how to progress.
"Hello, this is Gemma," she answers courteously, and I check my phone before I realised I've accidentally dialled her work number.
"Sorry Gem, it's me! Are you right to talk on this number?"
"Oh, of course, when would you like to book an appointment?" she says, obviously putting on a façade intended for her colleagues.
"He replied. He's coming over tonight," I inform her, desperately needing her advice.
