Ch.3 "The Ring"

Sarada's P.O.V.

It was the middle of the night and I couldn't really sleep very well. I then decided to go to Boruto's tent to see if he was still awoke and if he'd let me sleep with him again. I then crept  over towards his tent trying to stay quiet and peered into the crack. To my surprise, he was actually still up. He was watching videos of some sort on YouTube. He then looked in my direction. "Lemme guess... You can't sleep can you" he said. I only shook my head. "I can't really sleep either" he replied. "Do you mind if I can sleep in h-here with you" I asked. "Of course, anytime" he replied. I then slowly made my way to his sleeping bag and lied down right next to him. After that, there's a long moment of awkward silence. We stayed like that for about 19 minutes. "Can I-" he started but was interrupted with howling. "Aroooooooooof" howled an animal. Without thinking, I cuddled up under him squeezing him.

'When I'm like this I feel protected and loved' I thought.

After the howling stopped, I managed to slowly drift off to sleep.

Boruto's P.O.V.

After the howling stopped, she immediately fell asleep in my arms. I then kissed her cheek softly and I too fell asleep.

Next Morning
I squinted my eyes trying to block out the rays of sunlight. I then groaned and opened my eyes and saw Sarada. She was still sleeping and I didn't want to wake her. I waited with her in my arms for about half an hour. She stirred in her sleep several times until she had finally awakened. Her eyes fluttered open and her onyx eyes met mines. "Good morning" I said smiling. "Good morning" she replied as she broke the embrace. She then got up and stretched. I then got up too and stretched. "Hey Sarada, can you step outside for a minute" I said. She glances at me and then walks out with her arms folded. I then took my shirt off and threw it somewhere.

Sarada's P.O.V.

I saw a shirt thrown out of his tent so I picked it up and decided to take it back to him. As I opened the flap on the tent, I gasped when I saw Boruto's toned body. I knew my poor pristine face was now stained bloody red. "U-um...I think you dropped this" I said hesitantly. "Oh yeah uh thanks" he said. I then quickly walked back outside. After about five minutes, he came back outside with his dad's Genin flak jacket. "Sarada, follow me to that same oak tree from yesterday" he said. "OK" I replied as we both chakra dashed to the oak tree. We then climbed it to the top. We then sat across facing each other. He then clears his throat and takes a deep breath. "Sarada, I have a confession to make......

Ever since I first met you, I knew you were the one that I'd fall for. I'd always loved you more than just a friend. I wasn't sure how you felt about me. I really love you and what I'm trying to explain is that is the reason I got you this promise ring" he said as he pulled out that same box that contained the ring inside it. I was now extremely happy but also extremely nervous at the same time. "Boruto, I had always felt the same... I always wondered if you felt the same about me too. I was scared that you'd reject me" I said. "Oh, Sarada.... I'd never reject you" he replied. He then stood up and slid the ring on my left hand and took both my hands. I marveled at our hands that were now intertwined. We then looked each other deep in the eyes and just as I was about to break his gaze, he leaned in and kissed me on the lips. I then wrapped my arms around him and kissed him back. The kiss was unexpected but it was a lot better than I expected. "Sarada-chan, you have know idea how long I wanted to do that" he said. "I feel the same" I replied gleefully. Me and him then walked back to the tents to work on our summoning jutsu for a while. Boruto finally summoned a full stage frog but still no sign of Gamakechii. "Boruto, what is my dad gonna think of you" I said. "I don't know" he replied. "Boruto" I said. "Hmm" he replied. "Mind if I call you...'Bolt" I asked. "Call me whatever you want babe" he said. I then blushed at him calling me 'babe'. "Hey guys" said an unexpected voice. ChouChou Akimichi! Me and Bolt turned around to see her Inojin, Metal Lee, and Shikadai. "Hmmph...what are drags like you guys doin' in these woods" said Shikadai lazily. "Nothing. Me, Bolt, and Mitsuki are in the woods working on our summoning jutsu. Also Bolt is working on the 4th and 7th's hidden jutsu: The Rasengan" I said. "Oh cool" said ChouChou. "Isn't that weird that you call Boruto 'Bolt' now" said Metal Lee.
