'I call to you, LORD, come quickly to me; hear me when I call to you. May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.'
Psalm 141:1-2
Recently, I know I have talked a lot about who God is and what we can do to honour Him and to trust in Him. But I want to talk about one of the simplest things today - prayer and worshipping Jesus.
Jesus wants relationship with each and every single one of us. What I love about this Psalm is the way it relates prayer and praise to great gifts and sacrifices. When we show God just how much we love Him, he appreciates every little things we do, and considers it worth just as much as great acts or presents. He wants to be near us, to spend time with us, because that is who He is - our Father.
And therefore nothing we do is inadequate or worthless. It doesn't matter if you are a member of the greatest ballet company in the world, or you have two left feet - Jesus sees everything we do as beautiful, and everything we are as beautiful too. He has given us talents and gifts, and we can use them to give Him the glory - He doesn't care where or who it comes from, He just wants to know and to walk alongside us. As long as it is wholeheartedly in love for Him, we can praise the Lord with all that we are.
Prayer
Dear Lord,
Thank you that you are almighty and that you want a relationship with us. Thank you that you see every part of me as beautiful, no matter what. Lord, Let me give me all to you. Help me to honour you with every ounce of my being.
Amen
