Loved, Redeemed and Chosen

Day 391

'Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what He did for me. For I cried out to Him for help, praising him as I spoke . If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer. Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw His unfailing love from me.'

Psalm 66:16-20

God is our father. He is constantly loving us, constantly holding us, constantly with us. That's something we can't forget - we are precious to Him. So precious. We are His children, and there is nothing that can come between His love for us, because that love is as unfading as eternity, and as unfailing as his promise, that we will spend eternity in the arms of our Daddy.

And we can be honest with our Father. We can tell Him every problem, every thought, every fear, every worry. When we mess up, we don't have to hide away in shame. We need to do the opposite: we need to call His name when we least deserve to, when we feel like we're drowning in our own feelings and our own tangles. We are redeemed. We are redeemed, and there is nothing, nothing whatsoever, that can take that away from us. Nothing. 

I've chosen this passage because it says how good God is, and how he always listens to us, He always pays attention to you. It's not like those arguments you might have with a friend where they don't pay attention to anything you say except to contradict it. He cares about every word that you say to Him, every little thought, feeling and hope you have. Praise God, because He is for us, He is not against us. His love enters every dark place, every black ocean, and provides an anchor, a light. A light that shines brighter than anything you could possibly imagine. He is good. He is good. 

Prayer

Dear Lord,

Thank you that you make me strong, you make me brave. You have redeemed me; I do not have to fear death because its victory has been crushed, and its sting lost. Lord, please give me confidence to know that you never abandon me. You always listen, you always care. You are mine, and I am yours.
