Chapter 16- Sharlene
"Sharlene," Liane demands with a supieror tone in her voice. " What are your parents' full names?" I look around the room. I think every trainer is in here. They're all in black clothes as always. All of them are staring at me like I killed all those people last night. The only one who has even a little bit of compassion is Steve and he can't even look at me.
" Sharlene, What are your parents' names?" She commands more sternly now.
" Evelan Fraser and Timothy Fraser." I say numbly. Liane writes down something too short to be my parents names.
" How do my parents have to do with anything?" I ask.
" I'll ask the questions Sharlene, thank you." She spits back. I feel small. I've never felt this small in my life.
" Have you ever had communication with anyone outside this facility since your arrival here?" I look over at the cuboard where the passage is to get outside. I think about the time when Coren and I went outside the walls. Coren is part of the facility so I guess not.
" No." I answer the question. Liane doesn't write anything down. She stares me down.
" You're sure about that?"
" Yes, I'm sure." I shout. I can feel my face hot with fury.
" The little girl who passed away last night ,what was her name again?" Liane asks herself as she goes through the many papers on her desk.
" Her name is Joy. Her name was Joy Scott." I correct myself.
" Yes tragic isn't it." Liane mocks me.
" It's funny how you were the only one there in that hallway at the time." She continues. " Tell miss Fraser, Why were you out in the halls so late?"
" I was walking." I say right away.
" Where were you walking and why?" Liane inquires. I can't tell her about Coren and I leaving the building. I need to say something else. Something she won't ask any further questions on.
" When I got to my room, my friend was having some girl issues." I look at Liane's disgusted face before I continue. " So, I left to give her, her space." I can't help but grin a little. I got out of that easily.
" So when you found Miss. Scott she was already dead?" Liane questions.
" No," I pause to force my tears back as the memories of last night flash before my eyes. " She was still alive." I look down and twidle my thumbs to try to stop the memories.
" Describe all the events since then." Liane demands.
" What do you want to know?" I mumble not wanting to answer any questions about last night.
" Everything from the moment you found Joy until the moment anyone else came to you." I take a minute to regain myself. Do not cry. It'll just show weakness.
" I found her in the middle of the hallway in her own blood."
" Where was the source of the blood?" A man from the audience asks.
" Her neck. There was a cut in her neck and what seemed to be rope burns in her skin." I stop to see if anyone has any questions but then I continue.
" I began CPR and after fifteen minutes I was ordered to stop by my trainer Steve." I look around at everyone's faces. Almost everyone is having a side conversation with the person beside them.
" Miss. Fraser, You said that when you reached her she was alive, was she responsive?" Liane asks.
" Yes she was." I try to keep my face rock solid so the tears stay in as I remeber her tiny weak bloody hand griping my hand. One tear rolls down my cheek but I quickly wipe it away.
