Peter's knees buckled and he collapsed to the ground. I rushed over to his side. SkyBird also ran to Peter's side. I glared at the Preident who was laughing.

"Help me get him up," I said to SkyBird as I grabbed Peter's arm. SkyBird nodded and grabbed his other arm. We both flapped our wings and flew away before the President could injure any of us again.

"This is bad! We need to get Peter some help!" SkyBird with shaken voice.

"Okay but who can we trust?" I said straining a bit to hold Peter's weight.

"We should land and think of people we can trust," SkyBird suggested also struggling to keep hold of Peter. We both landed in some woodland. We gently laid Peter down in the grass. He looked very pale and his wound look pretty bad.

"Okay. I think we should look at his wound first," I said unsure of what exactly we should do. It reminded me that I always wanted to become a surgeon ever since I was ten. SkyBird nodded in agreement. I lifted Peter's shirt and saw that the bullet had hit him in his stomach. Panic started to set in. He could die from blood loss, infection, or his organs could began to shut down. My mind began to race as I thought of what to do first. The blood. First I need to clean up the blood. I ripped off one of my sweater sleeves and used it to clean up all the blood. Thhen I ripped off my other sweater sleeve and used it to wrap Peter's wound.

"Wow. Smart thinking. I wouldn't have thought to use the sleeves of a sweater to clean up the blood and wrap the wound," SkyBird said inpressed. I smiled feeling I did a good job for a fourteen year old girl.

"I'm going to get some firewood. Can you go find some berries and water?" I asked taking off my sweater. I wrapped my sweater up and put it under Peter's head so he could have something soft for his head.

SkyBird nodded, "Yeah. I'll go find some water and food now." She began walking away with a jug in her hands.

"Okay. Once you get back I'll go get some firewood," I hollered to SkyBird. I watched as she disappeared in the distance.

SkyBird walked unto she saw a river. She ran over to the river and began to fill the jug with the water. Once she filled the jug she cupped her hands and drank some water. Then she found a bush and stuffed her pockets with berries.

While SkyBird was away I watched on Peter. I sat next to him and talked to him about myself. Things I never really had told anyone but SkyBird. Like how I've always wanted gold eyes instead of silver eyes, and how I always dreamt of wanting to fly ever since I picked up my first Maximum Ride book. Even though Peter wasn't concious I still talked to him. I felt that if I kept talking to him that he would be okay.

"I'm back," SkyBird said setting the jug and berries down. My stomach grumbled at the sight of the food and water.

"Good job. Once I get the firewood we can start a fire to heat up the water so the bacteria in the water will dissolve," I said jumping to my feet.

"Right," SkyBird replied hiding the fear in her voice. She had forgotten that there was bacteria in the water when she drank some. She smiled and waved to me as I hurried to find firewood before the sun sets.

I picked branches hear and there as I walked. I sat down on a log next to a lake that looked deep and looked at my reflection. My reflection showed a girl with messy ditry blonde hair, big silver eyes, pale skin, wearing a black tank top, blue jeans, sneakers, and had big beautiful pure white wings. I frowned and thought to myself if I was ugly or pretty. "I'm ugly..." I said to myself. I looked back at my reflection and saw that I was covered in blood. I slowly lifted my hands to my face and saw they were covered in blood. It felt as if a million bells were ringing in my head. I held my head and tried to ignore the noise and the blood I was seeing. My vision began to go and I fell into the lake.
