I sat down on the bed and wiped a tear from my face. How was I going to escape this place? The walls were concrete, the floor was locked and conrete, there were no windows, nothing I could use to escape, and no secret passages. I closed my eyes and thought hard.

I stood up and walked over to the door. I pressed my hand agains it. The door felt cold and steel. I closed my eyes and concentrated hard. I took a deep breath and opened my eyes. I pressed my hand against the door. My hand went through the door. I quickly pulled my hand out in shock. I regained my composure and slowly pressed my hand against the door again. It went through the door. I slowly walked through the door. Everything was white. I saw the flock there standing. They were all smiling and waiting. Waiting for me. I smiled as tears streamed down my face.

"Hero!" SkyBird screamed as she ran over to me.

"SkyBird!" I yelled as I ran to her. I put my arms out to hug her. SkyBird ran at me and just as she got to me she disappeared.

"What?!" I said quietly looking around. SkyBird was nowhere. I looked up and realized that the flock was also gone. Everyone one. They were all gone. I fell to my knees and began sobbing.

"Why?! Why?! Why?! Where is everyone?! I want them back! I want to see them again!" I sobbed. I closed my eyes as I sobbed all alone. There was no one there to help me. To hug me. To say that it would be alright. I was all alone.

I opened my eyes and saw that I was on the other side of the door. I felt my face to make sure this was all real. I regained myself and looked around. Luckily there were none of those people in the black army suits to tackle me down.

I quietly walked down a hallway looking for the exit. I wanted to just get out of there and see the flock again. I wanted to see my friends. No. I wanted to see my family. The flock was my family. Not just my friends. Even though we had only been together for a few days they still felt like my family. They felt like my real family.

At the end of the hallway there was a door. I put my ear against the door and listened for any noise. I heard what sounded like a conversation. I tried to listen in on the conversation.

"So you really have her locked in the room?" a voice asked someone.

"Yes," a voice I recognized replied. I cupped my hands over my mouth. The man responding to the other man was the President. My eys widened as I realized that he was after us. Not just me but the flock now. I knew at that moment I had to get out of here and warn the other before they got caught.

"So why did you call me here?" the other voice asked the President.

"I want you to perform a little experiment for me," the President replied.

"Okay. What kind of experiment?" the voice asked curious.

"Cut the girl open and find out how she grew wings. If you do this I will pay you 1 million dollars," the Preisdent said opeing a suitcase. I guessed that he was opening a suitcase full of money like they always did in the movies.

"That's a lot of money. A procedure like this is risky though. The girl could die from blood loss or infection," the voice cautioned the President.

"If you don't do this then I will have to kill you because you know about this," the President said with anger in his voice.

"Okay," the voice said with regret in their tone.

"If the girl is alive by the end of the procedure then I will pay you an additional 2 million dollars," the President replied to the person.

"Okay. I'll try to keep her alive, but I can't make any promises that she will be alive by the end. There's a 70% chance she will die," the voice admitted.
