Chapter 28. Double Date?

The next day, you woke up with Buck sleeping peacefully next to you.
'Wonder what he dreams about. Probably shouldn't ask. It's Buck anyways. Who knows what's going on inside that head of his anyways?' You thought.
You then shrugged and went back to sleep.
*Buck's Dream* Buck's POV (75 words)
I desparetly looked around trying to find (Name).
I could hear her yelling for me in the distance.
I couldn't tell where she was. The rain wasn't helping at all.
I then heard evil laughter coming from the trees above me.
"You'll never be able to save her. She's mine now. Your 3 little brats won't be able to save you or her as well. They'll be long gone before they can even try to step foot upon my land." The evil figure said, turning only one side of his face to me, his bright green eye showing.
I then felt sharp claws grab onto my shoulders and I was lifted up.
'If it's to save them, I accept my fate.' I thought.
*End of Buck's Dream* No One POV (207 words)
Buck's eye shot open after that dream.
He looked around and saw you sleeping peacefully.
Buck sighed in relief and sat up.
Your eyes slowly opened. You then yawned.
Buck looked down at you and smiled.
"Hey." He said.
"Hey." You responded then sat up.
"How'd you sleep?" You asked.
Buck shrugged. "Ok I guess." He said.
"Ya know. After all that Sphinx has done for us, we should help her find someone of her own. I mean, she did help us get togther after all." You said.
Buck looked at you with a puzzled look on his face.
"But how do we do that? We don't know if there are other weasels out there." Buck said.
You shrugged and nodded. "You'll never know." You said.
"Wait. You guys know Sphinx?" You guys hear an unknown voice say.
You guys looked to where the direction of the voice came from.
He was a weasel. He had red fur, brown eyes, and a black underbelly with white spots.
"Aye. Who are you?" Buck asked.
"Oh. Sorry for that. I'm Atkins. And you guys?" Atkins asked.
"I'm (Name) and this is my boyfriend Buck." You said.
"Oh yeah! I've heard about you guys before back at the colony." Atkins said.
"So how do you guys know Sphinx?" Atkins asked.
"We could ask the same for you." Buck said.
"Well I asked first." Atkins said.
"Well, you see, we were helping a wolf find his family, we came across a cave and his family was in there, we attempted to free his family but it was all a trap, she wanted Buck for herself and wanted to kill the wolf's family because of what his species did to her family, we ended up saving his family, we forgave Sphinx and now we're all here." You finished, taking a breath.
Atkins nodded.
"So. How do you know her?" Buck asked.
"I knew her back at the colony when we were all kits." Atkins said.
You nodded.
"And almost everyday, I'd do everything I can to impress her. But she never really noticed me." Atkins said, his ears down.
You and Buck looked at each other for a second then back at Atkins.
"We'll try to work out something if that helps." You said.
Atkins' ears perked up and he smiled.
"Thank you!" Atkins exclaimed.
"Meet us here again around noon and we'll tell you what she says." You said.
Atkins nodded and went back into the forest.
'I have a good feeling about this.' You thought.
*Meanwhile With Sphinx* Sphinx's POV (636 words)
I was busy washing myself in the nearby river. Rethinking everything that I did the previous day.
I finished washing a few minutes later, got out of the river, and found a decent sized leaf and dried myself with it.
When I was done, I dropped the leaf, and wrang the rest of the water out of me.
I then started to head back to the resting area.
Along the way, I ran into (Name).
"Oh hey, (Name)." I said, guilt automatically hitting me.
"Hey, Sphinx!" She said.
"Look. I'm REALLY sorry for how horrible the dinner went." I said.
"What? There's no need to be sorry, Sphinx." (Name) said.
I then felt confused.
"What do you mean, (Name)?" I asked.
She smiled.
"You can guess." She said.
It then ticked in my head.
I gasped happily. "Oh my gosh! You're not serioys are you?!" I asked happily.
"Yup. Buck and I are a thing now." (Name) said, nodding.
I squealed and hugged her. "You HAVE to tell me the whole thing later." I said.
"And in return to thank you, we want to help you find a date as well so we can have a double date." (Name) said.
My ears went back down and I began to grow nervous.
"What's wrong, Sphinx?" (Name) asked.
"N-Nothing. It's just that.. dating brings back bad memories." I said.
(Name) nodded understandinly.
"I know you may feel uncomfortable right now, but does the name Atkins ring a bell?" (Name) asked.
My ears perked up.
"Yeah. Why?" I asked.
"He stopped by earlier." She said.
"He wants me to be his date huh?" I asked, my ears drooping once again.
"Yeah.." (Name) said.
"Well if it's just for this date then yes. But don't tell him I said the first part though." I said.
"Will do!" (Name) said and went back to where the herd was.

*Time Skip* No One POV (957 words)
"So? What'd she say?" Atkins asked.
"She said yes." You said.
"Yes!" Atkins said.
You giggled at his excitement. "Don't get too excited there, tiger." You said.
"What? I can't celebrate?" Atkins asked.
"She hasn't dated in a long time. She's also hsd a series of bad relationships. So take it easy on her." You said.
Atkins nodded. "Promise." He said and saluted.
"So when's the date?" Atkins asked.
"Tonight. We meet here. I'll bring Buck and Sphinx." You saidm
Atkins nodded. You nodded in return and left.
Atkins then smirked and chuckled. 'Perfect.' He thought then went back to the forest.
*Timeskip* (1,062 words)
"Hi Atkins." Sphinx said shyly.
"Hey, Sphinx. You've.. changed. But in a good way." Atkins said.
Sphinx smiled.

You smiled as the two started to enguage into a conversation.
"Remember when we were at their stage?" You asked.
Buck chuckled. "Yup. We were awakward just like they were." He said.
You chuckled and cleared your throat.
"So. Uh. Do you guys want to go on a walk with us?" You asked.
Sphinx and Atkins looked at each other then back at you and Buck.
"Nah. We're good. We'll just talk and catch up." Sphinx said and nodded.
You smiled and nodded back.
"If you guys need us, we'll be here." You said.
"Gotchya." Sphinx said and went ahead of Atkins.
"C'mon, Atkins!" Sphinx said.
"You go ahead. I'll catch up." Atkins said.
"Ok!" Sphinx said and then went ahead.
'Perfect. I have her where I need her to be.' Atkins thought and smirked.
He then went off to where Sphinx was.

'Something's off about that guy.' Buck thought.

*Meanwhile With Sphinx and Atkins* No One POV (1,240 words)

"Hey, Sphinx. I know we just met each other again but I was wondering if you wanted to be my girlfriend?" Atkins asked.
"I'd love to." Sphinx said with a smile.
The two then hugged and went back to the resting site.

Note: Hey guys! Hope you enjoyed that. I am currently a bit busy with school related and church related stuff so excuse me if it seems like I'm forgetting to update. I'm not, trust me. I'm just currently very busy at the moment. Summer I should be on a bit more tho I am volunteering as a CIT at my local Recreation Center this summer and they don't allow phones. So idk. But I hope you guys enjoy. The next chapter will be shorter.
