Chapter 30. Suspicion Pt.2

                    No One POV
     The next day, Atkins snuck away from the herd, back to the colony to meet his real girlfriend, Flore.
     "Hey." Flore said, hugging Atkins.
     "Hey, Flore." Atkins responded and hugged her back.
     "Why have you been sneeking off lately?" Flore asked.
     "Because. There's this REALLY unusual herd nearby." Atkins said.
     "How unusual?" Flore asked.
     "Very. There's 3 mammals, 3 weasles, 2 possums, 1 saber tooth and 1 sloth." Atkins said 
     "That is unusual." Flore said.
     "Indeed. You remember Buck, (Name) and Sphinx, right?" Atkins asked.
     "I remember Buck and (Name), but not Sphinx." Flore said.
     "Her real name's Raki. She changed her name after her family was attacked by a bunch of wolfs." Atkins explained.
     "Oh yeah! I remember her!" Flore said.
     Atkins nodded.
     "They're all nearby." Atkins said.
     "That's great! We should tell the Mayor about this!" Flore said.
     "No. I don't want to create panic." Atkins said.
     "Why should anybody panic? This would be great news!" Flore exclaimed.
     "I said no Flore!" Atkins said, getting angry.
     Flore's ears drooped and she looked down.
     "I'm going to head back to where the herd is before they suspect me. I'll be back tonight. DO NOT tell people that Buck, (Name) and Sphinx are here. Got it?" Atkins asked.
     "Yes, Atkins." Flore said.
     Atkins placed his fingers under Flore's chin and lifted her head up to look up at him.
     "Hey. Don't be so down. I'll be back tonight. I promise." Atkins said and gave her a small smile.
     Flore smiled back and she gave him a small kiss before he left.

     'I'm telling the Mayor no matter what. And you're not going to stop me.' Flore thought then went back to her burrow.

     Sphinx woke up to see Atkins not with her.
     'He must be by the river or something.' Sphinx thought.
     She then started to worry. She got up and went to find you and Buck.

     You were talking to Peaches and Buck was telling stories to the younger animals around the area.
     2 of the audience members being the Possum twins.
     "Hey, (Name). Sorry to bother you but can I talk to you for a sec?" Sphinx asked.
     "Sure! Gotta go, Peaches!" You said, getting up.
     Buck noticed you getting up and went over to you two.
     "So. What's wrong?" You asked.
     "I don't know. I woke up this morning only to see Atkins not next to me." Sphinx said.
     "He's probably out doing errands or somethin'." Buck said.
     "He's been doing this for the past week though." Sphinx said.
     "Ah. I see. That is suspicious." You said and nodded.
     "We'll see what we can do about it." Buck said and and put a paw on her shoulder.
     Sphinx nodded and smiled.
     "Can we help?" Crash asked.
     You and Buck looked at each other then back at the twins. You both then nodded.
     The twins high fived each other.
