Chapter 39. Meeting (Name) & Buck

Jet's POV
All day, I have been thinking about Buck and (Name). I have heard both positive and negative rumors about them.
I've also heard that they're right outside this village!
I really want to meet them but my dad won't let me.
It's the life of being the son of a mayor after all.
"Jet! I'm going to be at a meeting for most of the day!" I heard my dad say.
"Ok Dad! Is it ok if I visit some of my friends today?" I asked.
"You're allowed to. But DON'T go outside the colony. Got it?" My said said.
"Yes Dad!" I said.
'Though I can't 100% guarentee that.' I thought.
I then made sure that he was gone.
I got up and went outside my burrow.
I then saw my friend Kaori with her boyfriend Kane.
My ears dropped and I looked at the ground.
I had to admit, I've had a crush on her since kithood.
She then saw me and I perked my ears up.
"Hey, Jet!" She said and waved a little at me.
"Sup, dude?" Kane asked.
"Not much." I responded.
"So. Didya plan anything today?" Kane asked.
"I'm going to see the herd." I said.
"Woah. Breakin' the rules, eh?" Kane asked, impressed.
"Yeah." I said.
"Welcome to teenhood, kiddo." Kane said. I nodded.
"Hey. Has anyone seen Moon or Malinda today?" I asked.
"Malinda says she's going on a trip to see her relatives that are from another colony." Kaori said.
"Haven't heard anything from Moon. Probably being a nerd like he always is." Kane said.
"Eh. Makes sense." I said.
"So where's your Dad?" Kaori asked.
"In a meeting." I said. Kaori nodded.
"So. Are we gonna see that herd or not?" Kane asked. I smiled.
"Kaori. Keep an eye out for my father. If he asks where I am then just say that I have gone hunting with Kane." I said then left.
"Ok!" I heard Kaori say.

I went up to the herd.
"Hi! I'm Jet!" I said.
The 3 Weasels looked at me.
"I'm (Name) and this is Buck." (Name) said.
"I'm Buck. Short for Buckminister. Long for Buh." Buck said.
I smiled. "Oh. And I'm Sphinx." Sphinx said.
"Who's the lad that's with you?" Buck asked me.
"I'm Kane. Jet's friend. My girlfriend Kaori is back in the colony." Kane said.
(Name) nodded.
"Jet. What the hell are you doing?" I heard my Dad ask.
My ears drooped. "Sorry Dad.." I said.
"Who are you guys?" My Dad asked.
"I'm Buck. And this is my girlfriend (Name). And my friend Sphinx." Buck said.
Narrarator POV (456 words)
"(Name)?" They heard a female voice say.
"Mom?" (Name) asked. She ran to her mom and hugged her.
"You're still alive!" (Name)'s mom said.
"Welcome home, hun." She said, smiling.
