"Hey Charlotte, it's Rhett. Uh- y'know, Link's friend."

Rhett firmly gripped onto his phone and held his eyes closed, waiting for a response. He couldn't simply ignore the fact he just saw Christy on live television, and not tell anyone at all.

"Of course I know it's you, everything alright?"
Her voice was muffled by the poor connection but it was still audible. Rhett glanced over to his fallen TV, and sighed.
"I- uh- yeah. I'm fine. Charlotte... is it okay if I come in, I need to talk to you."

The warm winter's sun shone through Rhett's window, casting shadows across the walls as he grabbed his backpack to leave. Stepping out the door, everything had a faint white tint to it, as if he was slightly drunk and tired. In a bit of a daze, Rhett stumbled out to get to Charlotte.

Rhett has managed to let himself forget most of what had happened in the recent years. It was far from non-eventful, and he was thankful that he never needed anything such as therapy to help overcome the chaos. Apart from a few drugs to keep him from falling into a pit of depression and guilt, Rhett had almost moved on. Burying himself into his nine to five job, and caring for his old tabby cat who roamed around the kitchen and bedroom, was therapeutic and all he ever needed. But there was always something still there, that wouldn't let him away from it all completely. That was Link.

He never did get over it. And that's why he, months and months later, was in the place he was. It was never the intention, but he was a danger to himself. And Rhett's worst nightmare was for something to happen to him. Again.

"Darling, you need to wake up."
Scott was still sat with Link, ignoring all his other appointments to stay with his favourite patient.
"Nothing's going to hurt you," he whispered gently. "Nobody else is here, just me."

No sign of Link waking up was showing, worrying Scott immensely. Just shallow breaths and rosy pink cheeks were all to be found. Not even the fan in the corner was on, usually filling the room with a quiet buzz, so it was deathly silent. Hours before Link was screeching as loud as he could and nurses were rushing around, but now the room was a wasteland with an unconscious patient and a concerned therapist beside him.

Scott never did change the ringtone when he purchased his phone, so the loud default ringer always gave him a shock when somebody called. He felt the vibration against his leg, and pulled it out his pocket to answer.

"Hey babe, how did it go?"
"Pretty good, not the best I've done."
Scott bit his lip from hearing her.
"I'm sure you looked wonderful."
"Shut up you idiot, aren't you meant to be with someone now, I didn't expect you to pick up.
"I am, but he's asleep. You know."
"Oh... him?"
"Babe it's okay-"
"I'm gonna go, talk later love."
"I'll see you later.
And I can't wait to see you in that purple beauty I picked out for you."

Kisses were exchanged and Scott's phone returned into his pocket with a light smile over his face.
