This is long... but it needed to be! This isn't the last chapter either, there'll be one (or two maybe) after this. But anyway yeah I can't believe I'm (almost) finally done and WOW THIS TOOK TOO LONG okay I'll let you read now.

Three extra words.

-

Christy hated having no words. It meant defeat, and she was not going to let Link, Scott, or any of them walk away with that easy satisfaction.

"Christy, I think it's best you leave," Charlotte finally asked, relieving the others with not having to tell her themselves. However, she wasn't budging. Scott eventually released Link, and they all turned towards the pressured woman, waiting for her well anticipated reply.

"Leave... and simply forget everything that I have just been told? Great idea, whoever-"

Christy faced the group slowly, hair falling over her face and chest dramatically rising up and down. She looked rough, but in a way, still controlled.
"Charlotte, actually. My name is Charlotte."

Christy tutted. "Doesn't even matter now, does it. My husband just confessed he had an affair with my actual ex husband, right in front of you. That's not something you hear casually mentioned every day, or are you too dense to even know that?"

"Don't even begin-" Charlotte started, infuriated that Christy was trying to say anything only to get under her skin. It was working, and she wasn't even finished.

"Everywhere it's just cheating, cheating, cheating. I can't get away from it, and I don't know why! Everyone's all over each other and I'm always to blame-" Christy threw her hands about, emphasising her flawed point as her last line of defence. She could've went on for hours, and still not have been prepared for what was about to emerge against her.

"But what about today, b- before Scott arrived?"

All eyes concentrated onto one, frozen face. Out of nowhere, Link was confronting Christy. Rhett nervously shook his head, Charlotte almost skipped a heartbeat at his sudden confident voice, and Link was fighting everything to keep a secure, stern stare at, in his eyes, the liar.

"Y'talking nonsense," Christy scoffed. "Be quiet."

Charlotte wearily glanced at Scott, and moved up closer to the now strong standing Link. She spoke carefully in a whisper. The situation looked nothing short of prone to disaster. "Hey, it's fine, you don't have to talk anymore-"

"No, no, let him finish," Scott hushed, and made a curious, intrigued face as Link urged himself on.

"After dragging me here, you got on the ground where I was struggling to stand, and y' kissed me. Y' kissed me so hard, tugging at me, doing all the things... Christy... this isn't fair!"

Link's face scrunched up as he got to the end, with tears forming in the corners of his eyes. It really wasn't fair.

Charlotte stood utterly dumbfounded, if she wasn't enough before. Rhett was the exact same, and Link was simply surprised he was still awake, after the morning's madness.

Christy's look was cold. In her mind, there was a brewing chaos of fury and anger. In the end, she laughed airily at the accusations.
"Oh of course I didn't. That's ridiculous, why would I even want to do that, with you?"

"I don't know Christy, why did you?" Link stepped forwards, pushing out every syllable clearly. Christy kept her distance, but watched his every move. "You were crying... there was so, so much crying. You made me feel so bad, like everything that happened was my fault again. Rhett helped me realise it wasn't. But when you kissed me, damnit! Why did you?!"
