When the relentless rain hit the windows for another consecutive morning, it woke Link up with a whimper. He slowly began to rise, and also realise he and Rhett fell asleep on the sofa after talking so long the afternoon before.

Mocha was pacing in the kitchen, waiting for Rhett to go and give her some breakfast, as he did routine every morning. But unfortunately for her, the two overslept her normal feeding time and Link only realised from the loud meows echoing from the other room.

"Rhett, Rhett, psst," Link tried to stay quiet and not irritating, poking Rhett in the shoulder and only receiving small mumbles and groans back. He guessed he maybe was being a bit irritating. But his glasses were lopsided, and his head was still swirling from the confusing dream he just had, that disappeared as soon as he opened his eyes.

A few pokes later Rhett gave into Link's persistence and properly sat up. Link didn't leave his side and latched onto him for a warm hug, which half-asleep Rhett gladly accepted. Everything was how they left it the day before, but now Rhett could hear Mocha hungry and wanting some fresh air.

"The bathroom is on the right, there's towels on the top shelf and spare clothes in my room," Rhett slurred out, as he got up and headed towards the dark kitchen. The thunder outside was becoming more regular and rowdy, but Link couldn't make himself count between the gaps. He chucked all the blankets away and stumbled to the bathroom to have a proper thorough clean, whilst Rhett prepared breakfast for both of them, and the excited, energetic kitty.

"So my, uh, friend that came to the door yesterday-" Rhett said, taking another spoonful of cereal and watching Link across the table do the same. He wasn't too fond of Mini-Wheats, but Link's eyes lit up as he walked into the room with a big bowl of it waiting for him. Small moments like that was why Rhett was on his third bowl, and Link was on his fifth. He hadn't eaten properly in a number of hours, but Link showed nothing but a big smile whilst chomping on the next mouthful.

Link didn't break his rhythm and simply replied with a nod, scooping around the edges to get all of the remainders.
Well, at least he has an appetite... a really, really good appetite...
"I'm going out to see them," Rhett finished. He stared down into his bowl, still with half the soggy wheats inside, and felt his stomach lurch at the sight. He was very, very done. Dropping the spoon back in, he pushed it away slowly and Link didn't care to look up. He was pretty sure his stomach wasn't too happy with him, but if Link's tiny one could handle it, a 6'7 man definitely could.

"Don't worry, you'll be fine staying here, I'm sure it won't be for long."
Reaching the bottom of his bowl with a frown, Link eventually looked up at Rhett and mumbled a small yes, quickly reaching for the box still on the table to pour some more. Before he could, Rhett reached over and took the box from his hands, and placed it back on the counter.
"I think you've had enough for now, Linky," Rhett smirked, and Link's heart jumped from his nickname.

Mocha came dashing through the cat flap on the door and went straight to Link, to Rhett's surprise as usually she would never go anywhere except to him. But he couldn't complain, as Link playing with cats was probably the sweetest thing he'd ever seen.

"I'm heading out in about an hour, and I'm just gonna go shower," Rhett spoke, but Link was too enthralled by little Mocha to pay much attention. Instead of rambling on Rhett left to go and prepare to see Charlotte, and Link took Mocha back to the lounge to relax with her playing around on his lap.

He wished he didn't have to, but standing under the running water and contemplating what he was going to say, Rhett knew he had to tell Charlotte about seeing Christy on the TV. It was what he originally went to go and tell her about, but, it didn't work out. This wasn't just something he could keep to himself, so she was the best option.

Rhett came back to Link all refreshed, with his hair styled a lot neater than he usually left it in recent months. He even got out his slightly more formal looking flannels and picked a dark navy one to wear, and overall looked quite different from the small changes. He wasn't sure what his sudden motivation was, but he was guessing it was Link. Having him home was such a relief, but it wasn't certain he could stay.

Link looked up at Rhett who walked in and his mouth dropped at his best friend, looking in his eyes, nice.

"So, how'da I look?"
