Chapter Fourteen

I striped into my bra and knickers and crawled into Max’s double bed. When I came back to the surface I saw Max getting into the bed and he pulled the covers over him. We both lay on our backs next to each other looking up at the ceiling

“We should go out to the field at night one time and look up at the stars.” Max said breaking the silence

“Yeah, we should…” I said closing my eyes

“Half-term is soon, maybe we can go camping for a night and then we can look up at the sky, looking at the stars all night…” Max said

“It sounds like a date…” I replied snuggling up to Max

He cuddled up to me and soon I fell asleep with my head burrowed into his chest falling up and down with each breath he took.

In the morning I woke up to the sound of a rhythmic beeping coming from across the room. I groaned and untangled myself from Max, crawled off the bed and located the source of the beeping. It turned out to be my phone which I had set the alarm a couple of days ago and never bothered to turn it off. I tried not to wake Max up as I crept back into bed holding my phone in my hands but Max stirred a little and turned over and looked up at me with his sleepy eyes.

“Hey gorgeous!” Max said whilst reaching up to me

“Well hello there.” I say as I lean down towards his lips, kissing them and then pulling away to check something on my phone. I hear Max fall back onto the bed and groan a little knowing he has to get up at some point. I climb out of bed and walk towards the door, open it and turn around to face Max.

“Just gonna get changed, meet you downstairs in the kitchen.” I say turning back around and walking out of the door towards the spare room.

I chuck on my school clothes and grab my bag and shoes which I carry with me as I pound down the stairs, stopping at the living room to drop off my bag and shoes which I then make my way to the kitchen where I make myself a bowl of cereal and pour orange juice into a glass. I sit myself down on a chair and place my things down on the table when Max walks in all dressed up in his school uniform; he makes his breakfast and joins me at the table.

“I wonder how Alex’s and Teagan’s night went.” I say in-between spoonfuls.

“Yeah and her bonding as well!” Max adds after drinking some of his juice

“Hmm yeah…” I say after taking my last spoonful of cereal.

I get up and take my bowl and cup, place it into the dishwasher and kiss Max on the cheek before making my way upstairs to brush my teeth and wash my face. When I’m done, I grab my phone from the spare room as I put it on charger and make my way to the living room where I see Max putting on his shoes. I sit next to him and slide my feet into my shoes where I then do the straps up. Max turns the TV off and we make our way to school locking the front door on our way out of the house.

I saw Teagan sitting on a bench by F block listening to music via headphones and when she saw me and Max walking towards her, Teagan took them out and called to us. We sat opposite her on the bench and I admired at how she looked. I swear since yesterday happened a lot has happened to Teagan, like more than what had happened to me.

“So what happened? Spill the beans.” I say grinning

“Well, we only spent the night together and slept in the same bed as each other!” Teagan chuckled

“Ha-ha sure!” I said sarcastically

“And the bonding?” Max asks

“Ahh well that is a whole different story!” She said laughing
