Always and forever

Chapter 10

It was perfect.

It was the perfect moment.

And it was ruined by Lily ringing the door bell.

I was kind of really waiting for Lily to come. I wanted to hug her so badly. Even though i had told Liam everything, i still wasn't sure about him. Liam was only the second person to whom i could open out. 

No one could ever replace Lily. She was one of a kind.

We were so startled by the bell that we bumped our heads together. Ow! that really hurt.

But then we started laughing.

Liam opened the door.

"Liam ! Do you know how much i waite- Woah! Emma! I didn't expect to see you here."

I ran and hugged her.

She asked, "Emma, What happened? '

And then I and Liam told her the whole story, how i had lost the chain and freaked out. Of course we left the part where we had the 'moment'. I was gonna tell her that later.

"Emma! Are you okay now? Damn I shouldn't have gone for tuition today. I'm sorry I wasn't there . Did he take good care of you?" she said pointing at Liam.

"Actually, yeah. I wouldn't even be up now if it wasn't for Liam" We looked at each other. And as always i blush again. 

"Good, or else he would be dead right now" she said laughing. We laugh together.

Later, we serve everyone the cupcakes.

Nana, Anna, Toby also come to try the cupcakes.  Mr and Mrs Evans too. Everyone loved the cupcakes. Yay to me and Lily.

It was such an awesome day. All of us together felt like family. We laughed and talked. Played carom board, scramble and all fun games. In between the games i could feel Liam glancing at me. Maybe. I dont know. Me probably imagining things. Nana, Toby and Anna went home at 9. I wanted to stay a little longer. The Evans' was like my second home. 

Later I and Lily went to her backyard. Her backyard was really nice. Like there were fairy lights everywhere. She even had a tree house. We went and sat under the tree. Her backyard was beautiful like this. To watch it under the tree was perfect. I imagined me and Liam like this. Like that would ever happen.

"So about today, I think it's because of me that you lost that chain, I'm sorry Emma".

This was the one thing i hated about lily. She took blame for everything that happened.

"Oh c'mon. Lily don't be that kind of a person who takes blame for everything."

"Ok, sorry."

We held our hands. It was beautiful to just sit there and do nothing, to stare at the skies. To watch the stars and the fairy lights. At that one moment, i wished time would freeze. I wanted to never leave that moment. It was beautiful. 

"So, I'm guessing something happened between you and Liam today."

"Yeah, not much, I mean he didn't kiss or anything, but we hugged."

And i told her everything that happened. I asked, "Why didn't you tell  me about Jason?"

"I was thinking of telling you Emma, it's just that Liam doesn't like us or anyone talking about it. I was gonna say but i knew Liam wouldn't like it. I'm sorry."

"Nah, it's okay. I understand. I mean i get him a lot. Its just like mom. I don't like people talking about it."

"You know what, To think that Liam actually told you about Jason, that is something big Emma. He doesn't even talk about it to me or anyone, not even Mom or dad.

I smiled. "Lily, I felt something when i hugged him. Usually, I freak out like i start blushing  when Liam does something like that. But it was different. I don't know how or why.

"Someone is in love"

I smiled. I was. 

"Emma, i just want you to know. If it doesn't  work out, I'll always be there for you."  She took my hand and i rested my head on her shoulders, "I promise" 

And i knew Lily meant that.

After sitting there for a few minutes, Lily hugged me and went inside.  I told her i was gonna stay here a bit longer.

I got up and sat on a swing. 

As i kept staring at the stars, I felt someone sit to the swing next to me. It was Liam.

"Hey"

I smiled at him. "Do you often come to this part of your house?"

"Always. Every night. How can I not come.The fairy lights are always on and the stars are like glued to this part of the sky ya know. It never goes. It's beautiful every night." he said looking at me. 

We looked at each other for a while. And then i looked up at the sky. The stars together looked like they made a shape of someone's face. I didn't know. 

"The stars look like someone  don't you think?"

"Yeah, I think they look like you." He sad laughing.

I punched him on the shoulders and started to swing on the swing.

As i reached the middle of the air. I felt like i was flying. Suddenly i felt time freeze. I looked all around me. I saw Liam with his hair falling on his eyes again, Lily was in the kitchen laughing and helping her Mom and Dad. I even saw Anna and Toby playing with each other at home in the garden. Nana was smiling and slowly falling to sleep.

And then i came back down. He looked beautiful in the light of the stars. Liam took my hand and we stood up. We looked up at the sky and then i saw my mom. I saw her right there. She was smiling. Liam was right. It was me. It was my mom. She looked like me. 

Liam took me up the tree house. It was beautiful. The tree house was filled with the memories of Lily and liam and their family. He took me up. He took me to the window. 

My mouth was open.

The sight was more beautiful than anything i had ever seen. And to live this night with Liam next to me, It was something beautiful. I knew right then that i would never forget this moment. I put my head on his shoulders. 

I wanted this night  forever. I wanted time to freeze. 

Meeting Liam and Lily was the best thing that ever happened to me. 

When i was with them i felt safe from the things that hurt me inside.

I knew right then those two were gonna be with me forever by my side.

There are some people in life that make you a laugh a little louder, smile a little bigger and live life just a little better.
