"Heard what ?" I asked her embarrassed.

"Oh nothing it doesn't matter." She smiled slyly.

"Hey maddy, how was your class?" I asked her as she sat down.

"Usual as the year before. Nothing new."

"Hey maddy, I'm lily, we've met before. " lily shaked her hands with maddy

"I know, I feel really bad for avoiding  you for such a stupid reason . I get really prejudice  at times. It's nice to meet you."

"Hey It's alright. Doesn't matter. I'm happy we get to be friends. Really. "

"By the way" I said, "I and lily were talking and we thought maybe we could keep a sleepover. You interested?"

"Yesss! I've never been invited to one before. I'd love to!"

"That's greaatt!" Lily clapped her hands.

We chatted through the rest of lunch. So far my day was good. Except for the tripping and falling part. We got to know maddy better. She had been in this school for 4 or 5 years. She lived in new York. I couldn't think of any reason for her to come here. I mean, Newyork was my dream city. I've wanted to go there my entire life.

"Why did you come here? I mean isn't new York awesome?" Lily asked the same question on my mind.

"I know, it is awesome. I came here coz my dad got transferred to this place."

"Well that's bad."

"Not really. I like it here. But to be honest, New York was better."

"Of course it was. New York has been my dream from when I was born." I said.

"Hawaii was mine." Lily said.

"Mine too!" They hi fived.

"Odd one out." I said.

I stuck my tongue at them. We laughed.

This school wasn't bad. I mean, my friends weren't bad. At all.

And then the rest of the day went so fast. I hadn't seen liam a single time, not even during lunch. Where was he anyway?

The last period was art. Yay, atlast something I could look forward to. Art was One subject I was interested  in other than English.

Mrs Troy - my art teacher - looked just like the art teacher at my old school. Weird. Did all art teachers look the same? She was amazing at painting. Better than any one I know. The way she stroked her every brush and made into a masterpiece . It was like magic. Better than that.

"Okay class, now  that's how you paint a nightingale bird. Hope it helps you in your future in some way." Was that sarcasm? From a teacher? Now that's rare.

"This year, we will be focusing on the different scenes of nature. Including of course birds, sunsets, waterfall, beaches and anything related to that. I hope all of you who have chosen this class are interested in art or else this is just a waste of your time."

We painted our nightingales. I felt a little like a kid. I had expected big things for art class, like potraits  which I was good at. But it didn't matter. I just knew that I loved painting even if it was a bird or a tree or whatever.

"This week we will focus on birds and animals . And Next week we will learn how to paint waterfalls. I thought of taking that the second half of the year because it's really tough for normal students to perfect it. But we should take that as a challenge am I right? So if you find some time please do practice painting  at least a glass of water." She smiled. Maybe she knew that most of the students were lazy here.
