My phone read 5:00pm. I had to start getting ready for dinner tonight. Harry wanted me to be there early with a suitcase with things I wished to keep at our house.
I thought packing should be done first. I threw a few clothing items into my suitcase along with some undergarments and some toiletries. After I was sure I had packed everything I needed, I rushed back to my wardrobe to find something to wear.
Harry emphasized the fact that his mother and sister were coming tonight. I wanted to wear something that was flattering, yet modest. I needed to make a good impression to the two foremost important women in his life.
I chose a maroon knit sweater dress and beige cashmere high-knee socks to go with my brown boots. I also decided a half-up half-down hairstyle would be most flattering. I looked at myself in the mirror for a good length of time, rehearsing how I would introduce myself to his mom and his sister.
After I was all finished prettying myself up, I made sure to place Harry, his mom's and his sister's gifts in plain sight so I wouldn't forget them before leaving. I had chosen a pair of earrings for his sister, and a necklace for his mom. Something small, but not too specific. Every woman likes a pretty piece of jewelry.
My phone buzzed on the counter. I picked it up. It was Harry calling me.
"Darling? Are you almost ready? Its 25 to six; will you be here by then?" Harry asked.
"Yes, I was just about to leave. I'm ready." I responded as I picked up my suitcase and the gifts.
"Have you packed your suitcase? It's fine if you forgot, I don't want you to feel rushed to move in but-"
"Yes, Harry. I have everything packed in my suitcase." I smiled.
"I never have to worry with you. You are always on top of things. I love that about you." I could practically see him grinning through the phone.
"Okay. I'm leaving now. See you at six." And with that, I hung up.

Driving to Harry's was a little more difficult than I had anticipated in the sense that I assumed I would have remembered where to go off by heart, but I had to use my GPS instead.I drove my car up the long driveway after pressing the passcode at the gate, parking it, and then removed my suitcase from my trunk.
My white Volkswagen Jetta looked so juvenile compared to Harry's black Range Rover which was parked beside my car.
I rang the door, and awaited Harry, packing the gifts inside my purse beforehand so that he wouldn't see them. I didn't want him to get the idea that I had brought something for him. I wanted to wait until Christmas day.
The wait was short, and I was welcomed to a freshly-groomed Harry at the door. His hair was gelled into a loose quiff, and he was dressed in grey pants and a maroon collared dress top that was tucked into the waistband.
"You look lovely." He smirked.
"Thank you." My cheeks flushed with embarrassment as per usual. I never knew how to respond to his compliments.
"Well come in, it's cold out there. Was the drive fine? Were the roads bad?" He asked.
"I'm fine, thank you." I smiled.
