Author's Point of View
Harry fled to London to live with Taylor, his ex-wife and raise his now one year old daughter. He has settled in an old castle-like mansion; a contrast to his previous house.
Him and Taylor still do not get along. It is apparent that they are not good for each other, but it is an underlying problem that they have yet to solve. Harry cares about his daughter far too much to say what he wants to say to his ex-wife that is accompanying him on this new journey to parenthood.
Alaska confined within her mother and gave into her plans of becoming a law student because she could not financially support herself on her own. It didn't feel right to use Harry's money, so she didn't.
Alaska is now her parents' star pupil. Attending Cardozo Law as a Junior with top-of-the-class grades just as her parents had predicted. She dresses in sweater vests and pencil skirts because that's how mother likes it. She always does what she says now.
Alaska is miserable. Absolutely miserable with her life. She sees a therapist for her depression, and still paints on her free time.
Nobody at Cardozo seems to know what Alaska did. Nobody seems to care about her relationship with Harry.
It was almost as if it never happened,
but it did, and the memories continue to keep her up at night, along with thoughts of what could have been.Unfortunately, the upper hall project that Harry and Alaska's friends worked so very hard on was never fully completed as no teachers were willing to go through with the finalization process.
Let's set this straight,
Harry is settled in a Mansion in London with a beautiful baby daughter.Alaska is settled in her apartment in New York that her mother pays for. She dresses like her mother instructs, she says what her mother wants her to say, she lives like her mother wants her to. She is not an artist. She is something that she has always dreaded of becoming.
She is a law student. To outsiders, she is cold, intelligent, successful, posh, and flawless.
But to anyone who knows her, or her story;
She is broken, she is unstable, she is lonely and she is sad. She is playing some sort of character her mother created just for her.
Isn't it a shame?
All of this misery for a teacher crush that went a little bit out of hand.--
ENDWoah, that was it. That's how this book ends.
I'm breaking my own heart with this ending but that's how I wanted it to be in the beginning.. Oh man.
I would love for this book to get more recognition! Please Vote/Comment/Share if you love this book! I mean, it doesn't have to end like this, a second book is always possible- but only if enough people want to read it.
Thank you so much for everything. This is the end of Unity and I'm sad about it.
Yours truly
