"Are we almost done here Mr. Styles...?" I asked through clenched teeth as I attempted to stay in my fixed position on the display table.
Harry had asked- more like told me I had to be the art class's model to be painted. I was the subject, and the students were attempting to replicate a Victorian-Era style painting. The way he had brought the topic up made it seem as if him and I had made an agreement. That was most definitely not the case, but out of the goodness of my heart, I did it for him, and pushed my body insecurities behind me just this once.
I was laying on one side with one arm supporting me and the other up in the air grabbing nothing. I had a sheet covering my body but nothing else.
Just below my field of view were dozens of art students attempting to replicate me in the form of a victorian style painting to the best of their abilities. Some of them smiled at me, but most just narrowed their eyes so they could capture every fine detail.
"Another forty-five, darling." Harry sighed as he continued to smile at his students. His arm left my side and I panicked a bit. I did not want to be lying on this table practically naked without him by my side.
"Students, may I have your attention for a moment?" Harry exclaimed. Everyone put their utensils and medium down then focused on him.
"Our little model here is doing a fantastic job of staying still for us." Harry clapped his hands together and said. "We will break in five, but first I have a few questions for you all."
I rolled my eyes in frustration. This position was doing a great deal on my body.
"Why is it that I specifically chose a dark burgundy sheet for her to wear instead of a creme or a beige?" Harry asked as his eyes scanned the room.
A familiar, tall, muscular boy that was sat just in front of me raised his hand.
"Yes Cole?" Harry said as he pointed over to him.
"Because the burgundy is especially flattering on her." Cole said confidently as he winked at me. I pursed my lips. I could feel the blood rushing to my cheeks in embarrassment.
Harry glared at him. Him and his group of friends were chuckling until Cole caught onto the fact that Harry was not laughing with them.
He scoffed. "Not necessarily a wrong answer, but definitely not the one I was looking for." He said as he rolled his eyes and headed towards the other direction.
Another student way in the back raised their hand.
"Yes, Ethan?" Harry said as he walked over to his direction to hear what he had to say.
"You chose a burgundy sheet because the background in which we are painting is already a very, very light tint of yellow. The burgundy adds temperature and value contrast. A beige or creme sheet just wouldn't do because then what we would be painting would end up looking very achromatic, and pieces from the victorian era were anything but." The boy explained from the back. He spoke well, I was impressed with his explanation, as was Harry.
Harry's eyes were wide and he nodded approvingly. "Very well said, Ethan. The contrast will give your painting a great sense of Unity- it will bring it together as a whole. That is essential for any artworks you wish to be successful. The sum of its parts must come together and be Unified." Harry added.
He walked to the front of the class again, standing right beside the display table where I was sat in a fixed position.
"Students, that is the difference between a Level one Student who does not take the teacher's questions seriously, nor do they have a firm grasp of the elements and principles of design- and a Level four, perhaps five student who takes this course very seriously and thoroughly understands how to apply their knowledge of the key points taught in last year's course. Thank you ethan for that." Harry said, making swift eye contact with Cole. Cole rolled his eyes and began chatting with his friends.
