XXX: the love club

Two months later

"So it's official then?" I asked Harry through the phone as I plopped myself on the love seat in my apartment.

"Yes darling. The papers have been signed and everything." Harry replied calmly through the line.

"Okay. That's good news." I smiled. I could tell he knew I was smiling, even if he couldn't see me.

"It is. Now leave me alone. I've got a class to teach." He scolded jokingly.

"Bye, Harry. I'll see you at four today then?"

"Yes.. You'll bring your friends as well?" Harry asked.

"Yessum, they're coming over soon. I'm going to tell them today."

"Tell them what?"

"We've talked about this, Harry."

"Oh, yes. Good luck with that. I trust you."

"Mhm. Go work." I laughed, and with that, I hung up.

Within a matter of minutes, my group of friends were barging through the door with their regular friendly expressions on their faces.

I welcomed them in, made them some tea and we sat down on the couch.

"What was so important that you needed to call for a meeting?" Maddie said as she crossed her legs and stirred the sugar in her tea until it dissolved.

"...Yeah. Is it about the project? Oh god, don't tell me we're being fired!" Bella gasped.

"You guys are crazy, stop." I chuckled as I sat down across from them.

"You look too happy.. Something is definitely wrong." Maddie commented.

I looked up to Alice- she was the only one who seemed to have a hint of what was going on. She stayed quiet in the corner and just witnessed my two other friends struggle to find out what this was all about.

"Is it a boy? Are you pregnant? Did Derrick impregnate you?" Bella gasped again.

"No, gross, Bells. I told you we broke up. Like, a long, long time ago. A long time ago." I rolled my eyes. It was seven months ago really, but I've pushed that memory so far back into my mind that it seemed like years.

"Then what is it?" Maddie and Bella exclaimed.

"Okay. All jokes aside for a minute." I cleared my throat. "You might be shocked, maybe a bit distraught even. But it's so incredibly important that you keep this to yourselves- even if you're not okay with it. For my sake." I said.

"Well now you're scaring me, Lass." Maddie chuckled. "Go on with it."

I exhaled deeply. This was it. Today was the day I publicly admit to someone either than myself that I was in love with my teacher.

"I'm in a relationship.." I started. Maddie and Bella cheered loudly. Alice sat back into the couch and smirked. She already knew. I knew she did.

"..With Mr. Styles." I sighed. Maddie and Bella's eyes shot to me.

Bella's jaw was practically on the ground. "You... what?"

"Mr. Styles? As in the teacher we are about to meet up with in twenty minutes?" Maddie asked.

"Yes.. And uh, this isn't new stuff. We've been together for more than a year now. A little less if you count the break in between." I sighed. I felt like I was sinning as I told them all of this.

"..A year?" Bella asked rhetorically.

"Yessum." I sighed. "I kind of was under the impression you guys wouldn't be okay with it. And that's fine. Just don't tell anyone. You can't. It will get him fired, and that can't happen because I am in love with him. And I care about him- so for my sake please, just keep your mouths shut. But I couldn't keep this from you guys any longer. I'm sorry it ended up lik-"
