"Hey, Thomas. They're talking about you," James said, glancing over to the man. Thomas shrugged, rolling his eyes.
"And?"
"And apparently Hamilton likes you," James frowned and a Thomas gagged on his coffee. James handed him a napkin and he snatched it from him, scowling as he wiped his mouth off, glaring at the group in front of him. What the hell? Are they all idiots? He scoffed, watching them. Maria had a hold on Laurens' arm, and he was glaring down at Alexander, who was trying to hurriedly speak to him. Hercules and Peggy were looking at each other, seemingly trying to have a conversation with facial expressions and pointing at the two. Eliza had her own grip on Alexander.
"What're they going on about?" He scoffed, glaring at them.
"Alexander and John are in a fight. And John accused Hamilton of having a crush on you," James said, raising an eyebrow. "They've been at this for five minutes now. Have you not been paying attention?"
Thomas rolled his eyes, shaking his head. "Nope. I have better things to do than listen to little kids crying," he scoffed, shaking his head. He watched as Alexander and John start to get into whatever argument they were having, even getting the attention of some of the others in the coffee shop. John was on the verge of what looked like tears and it seemed as if Alexander was trying very hard to not yell at him.
"Should we go and stop them?" James asked, frowning. Thomas groaned in annoyance, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"Fine. Just because I don't want to have to deal with this crap," he groaned, standing up. He grabbed his magenta jacket, throwing it over his arm and started towards the group. James stood up and followed after him, his head tilted slightly.
"Thomas, James. How have you been?" Eliza asked politely, seeing them walk up. She looked stressed out, and obviously the two boys fighting weren't helping her. Now that he was close, he could hear their argument.
"Laurens, come on! You know me, I wouldn't say that stuff about you! Somebody is lying, but it's not!" Alexander exclaimed, standing up, his hands pressed to the table. John glared at him, his arms crossed over his chest.
"Oh, so I should believe you but not anyone else? Just because you tell me to? My god," John burst out into stressed laughter, pushing some of his hair up out of his face. "you must really be dating Thomas if you think that! I can't believe you!" He exclaimed angrily.
Thomas rolled his eyes, deciding that this was a good enough time to step in. "Look I know everyone wishes we can get together, but it's not happening. I'd rather date anyone other than Alice. And watching you two fight is hilarious, but I don't think anyone else in here appreciates it. So either take it outside or stop fighting." He scoffed, glaring at the two of them. John jumped slightly in surprise, hearing him while Alexander just gritted his teeth.
"Screw off, Jefferson."
"Maybe when you two grow up. Seriously, look, Laurens. I don't usually take Hamilton's side. In fact, I hate taking it. But he really hasn't talked about you. Not that I've heard of. He's always screaming about how he hates me or some project," Thomas said, glancing over to turn his gaze on John . John glared at him, about to say something before James spoke up.
"I heard Lee and some other guy talking about you-" He said before John cut him off.
"You guys are idiots," he snapped, and spun around in anger. "I'm done with you guys. So I shouldn't believe what I saw with my own eyes? You're telling me I'm wrong when I saw him talking about me behind my back in plain sight?" John growled as he began to stalk out of the coffee shop. Peggy yelped, spinning around and running after him. Maria sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose.
"Apparently, he saw you talking about him in the middle of courtyard at school. I don't know what is going on, but it's weird. I really don't want to get involved in whatever this mess is leading up to, but if I really have to I will." She frowned, pushing some loose hair behind her ear. Alexander gritted his teeth.
"I don't know what he's talking about! I've never talked about him behind is back! I haven't ever made a scene about in the middle of the courtyard! Hell, I haven't even been able to talk to him, let alone make a scene about him!" Alexander exclaimed angrily, his eyes narrowed. Eliza pursed her lips in thought.
"Maybe he saw someone that looked like you?" She mumbled and Maria gave her a look.
"Eliza, there is no one in hell that looks like Alexander. Listen, I have to go make sure those two don't do anything drastic. John is still hungover and Peggy would do anything just to stir trouble. I'll text you later," she said, waving as she turned away and walked after the two others. All through this, Thomas had made his way back to his table. James followed after him, frowning in thought.
"So, what're you going to do?" He asked as Thomas sat down, grabbing his phone.
Thomas snorted. "Stay out of it. I could care less about what they do," he scoffed, rolling his eyes. James shook his head.
"Thomas, you live with them. You're going to be dragged into an argument whether you like it or not." James pointed out. "Who would you even defend?"
Angelica wasn't sure what she was looking at. She could tell it was Lafayette, oh sure. It was the Frenchman all the way. He usually wasn't so... place to place. "Mon ami! You're such a good person! Did you know that Alexander used to like you? Oh! Or that Laurens and Hamilton are in a fight? Poor poor Alex, he doesn't know what's going on! Maybe we should help him!" Lafayette giggled, swaying side to side.
"Are you drunk?" Angelica rose an eyebrow and he pouted, shaking his head quickly.
"Non! Why would you think that?" He asked, pouting slightly. Angelica shrugged.
"You seem like it. You're acting weird," she said, frowning.
"There's nothing wrong! Mon ami, I'm completely fine!" He said, clapping happily.
Alexander groaned, running his hands down his face in exasperation. Whatever is happening... I am so screwed.
