Her words would carry melodies
Over the tides at midnight
And though she'd never say it
She knew
That you were helpless in the wake
Of her beauty
Ivory skin and ink stained lips
Against a periwinkle sky
And a soul so bright
She left a trail of sunlight
On the path she walked
And where her footsteps once were
Trees grew and
Flowers bloomed
And when she cried
She silenced oceans
With the sweet sound of her tears
As they slid down the smooth skin of her cheek
Past her soft nose
And beyond her bottom lip
That was pulled between her teeth
To the crevice of her collar bone
Where they pooled
Into a puddle of salt water
Invisible beneath the seas
That filled her tub
As she blushed
And told you that you didn't know what you were talking about
When you told her she was everything to you
And though she was wrong about one thing
She was right about the other
Because you really didn't know what you were talking about
Not when she looked like that
Bathing in the morning sunlight
With such grace
That Aphrodite herself was struck with awe
At the wonders of her soul
And so you smiled
Because you didn't know what else to do
But smile and hope she understood
That if she was the beginning of it all
You would never wish for it to end
Not in a thousand lifetimes
For even then
You could never grow bored
Of watching her live
Thought it meant you could ever afford the same luxur
