The window

First Day

I walked into the school building feeling nervous, prepared, and excited. As I opened the door my best friend Madison gave me a strong hug but when I hugged back I was weak and frail.

I hadn't been to my Chemotherapy yet and I was feeling broken.

"What's wrong with you?" Madison asked me.

"I'm fine. It's nothing!" I said, frantically trying to change the subject.

"Okay, let's hurry and get to class before we're late!" Madison exclaimed and she pulled me down the hall.

We enter the classroom and sit down in our seats and in the class is Elliot Fletcher. I've heard that girls would call him 'Mr. Fast' because every girl he dates he leaves in a short period of time.

But for some reason, at that moment, I looked at him and saw past what the other girls thought of him. I felt like I saw the real him.

After our first class, Madison and I had separate classes. I was pretty much alone in second period, but I did have Elliot in the same class as me. In second period, I felt out of breath and I was wheezing.

My teacher, Mrs.Long, pulled me out of class and asked me what was wrong. I just stood with fear. I had to tell her now or she would be confused about why I was hurting like this.

"Mrs. Long", I started, "I have Cancer. Please keep this a secret. I haven't told anyone else and I don't want anyone else to know either."

"Okay that's our secret and if you need any help just call me." said Mrs. Long with a grim nod.

We went back in the class and Mrs. Long sent someone to take me to the Nurse and of course it was Elliot Fletcher.

He led me way outside the classroom and held my hand. We looked at each other and gazed into each other's eyes. 

Soon we reached the Nurse's Office and he let go of my hand. Elliot blew a kiss to me and I blushed.

As stared at the spot where he'd been I felt as if I had a connection with him.

I felt like I was falling in love with Elliot Fletcher.
